Sexual activity decreases with age. Something that is not the case of Jagger. That is the question, just jealous old guys

Yeah. the blues... They've been jealous about the Stones, even John from early on... Of course, anyone playing rock and roll is... Everyone would love to be Mick or Keith... They all know it. The Stones with every show they play prove it how unique they are even among their contemporaries. Macca can only imagine that kind of true rock and roll spirit with sex and eternal coolness, Roger can only dream about that kind of audiences and interest...

Roger Daltrey Slags Off Stones
Date: November 14, 2021 19:04

Daltrey praised Mick saying he’s “still the number one rock ‘n’ roll showman” but dismissed the Stones as a “mediocre pub band”.

I don’t know how to copy a link on my iPad but you’ll easily find the details via Google. It appears to originate from an interview on the Coda Collection.

Thanks, bye bye Johnny. Obviously, I didn’t realise it had already been mentioned in The Who thread.

Indeed. Macca doesn't need to be jealous, of course...but maybe he is. But Roger, yeah he's seemingly got an inferiority complex. Maybe even he knows that the Who is an overrated band, and that he himself is merely a singer and that Pete is the creative force of The Who.

Well Roger has been misquoted.

Watching/listening to the interview provides context that a cherry picked comment doesn't.

So true. He mostly praised them.. this comment was just a click bait title that had little to do with the actual interview. Not sure why it's getting so much attention. He know's the Stones are the top dog, otherwise he wouldn't have said he wished he could join the Stones earlier this year.

Macca has no singing voice anymore. Maybe he is a grumpy Old man although Beatles was a good band. R. Daltrey is saying very Little bad about the Stones.

The who are a fantastic rock band. A different animal. And he's right - sometimes the Stones do sound like a mediocre pub band - but then something clicks into place and suddenly they're the greatest rock and roll band in the world again. As Roger says, it's part of their charm. I don't think he means to slag them at all.

You're absolutely right. Daltrey is great, as Townshend and McCartney. Totally out of context and doesn't represent Daltrey's opinion about the Stones at all. And even if it was, he's entitled to his view, whether we agree or not.

Makes them look bad and the Stones look even better. Pure jealousy. The Stones are making $10 million a night, have the highest-grossing tour of the year, and have 3 of the top-grossing tours of all-time. Something The Who or McCartney can’t claim.
I doubt a mediocre blues-cover pub band could achieve this. Especially at almost 80!
And it’s so disrespectful of McCartney and Daltry to say these things with Charlie so recently gone. And McCartney says all these nice things about Charlie then turns around and attacks his band?
The Stones left McCartney and The Who in the dust a long time ago. They need to get over it.

There’s no need to be jealous at all. Just use viagra, like Mick does.

The Who... boring, Harlem Shuffle? ?? Have you seen them live?

The most recent Quadrephenia live set was a thrilling show. One of the best I've seen by anyone.

The Stones, The Who and Springsteen have this much in common - if you ain't seen 'em live, you won't know what the fuss is all about..
