I went to see this tonight in London. It was quite magnificent. The orchestra adds a huge and welcome element to the sound, and the mix, even in a stadium, was sympathetic to all the different sonic aspects. And everyone played superbly. If you can go to see this show - do it!

New tunes - and Townshend in a boiler suit!

Forgive if this already posted; i haven't had time to check; in any case
I thought this very honest open interview with these two together.
Very personal; a lot of Heart in those two.

It's a fairly recent interview from just this last March, 2019.
Pete's talking easily and laughing as he relates a story about
Mexican fans of recent generations finding them on YouTube doing
the classics in their day...
"They weren't screaming at us; they were screaming at who we used to be."
That's just a quick light line but he's really opening up here and I find
it fascinating; we're lucky these two are still with us.

Does anybody have a link to video of the two new songs?

I was at Wembley last night. Great show with an excellent orchestra but I think some of the deeper cuts from Tommy and Quadrophenia were lost on many in the crowd. I experienced an increasing and irritating aspect of live music around me- people chatting loudly and playing on their phones.

If they’re going to play a vast stadium like Wembley then it has to be a rocking greatest hits set. From my personal point of view I’m glad to have experienced the Tommy and Quadrophenia sets because in my 4 previous Who shows I’ve only ever had the rocking set.

Many notable omissions from the set : My Generation, I can’t explain, The Kids are allright and You better bet all nowhere to be seen!

Wembley isn’t the best music venue tbh. It’s far too big and definitely has an echo problem. There were huge complaints when Fleetwood Mac were there 2 weeks ago. The sound was okay in my seat in the club deck of section 228 but not perfect. I couldn’t always decipher what was said on stage. But for a £48 Stubhub resale 5 hours before the gates opened then no complaints from me .

Starts almost identically to another tricky day then morphs into a glorious operatic explosion of classic who proportion’s. Keep in mind this is from a shitty phone and it still sounds pretty damn good! Roger soars on this.

Thanks for the thoughts grzegorz67 - I'll be attending all three shows at the Hollywood Bowl in October which is about 1/4 the capacity of Wembly Stadium.
Seems that people chatting loudly and playing on their phones is a global problem, and something needs to be done to stop it!
Surprised at the omission you mention, but can always live without hearing You Better You Bet.

As for the complaints abvout Fleetwood Mac, might have partially had something to do with Lindsey no longer being in the band ha - I'd be complaining too!

85p How on Earth did you manage that??? Where was the seat? Prices dropped like a stone on show day and I got my face £155 seat on the club deck for £48 at 10.30am. Nowhere near as good as the old Wembley. It's just a big corporate skyscraper now.

Next bid event in London is the Dylan & Young shoe on Friday and even the cheapest tix see going for looney money.

I saw FM in Dublin 4 years ago with their full classic lineup restored and that's how I'd like to remember them. Lindsey was their best musician by a mile and to me they've shot themselves in the foot.

The Hollywood Bowl is the perfect sized venue for the orchestra musical format.

I was in Section 228 with a face value of £155. I'm pretty sure it was part of an unsold VIP package that was broken up.

Well done to both of you, Nate and Gregor getting good value tix for Wembley, and overall, you enjoyed the show.

I was there for this show, the WHO's only UK performance this year. Anybody catch Pete saying they were bringing this to the UK in 2020 ? Well he did ...

Had a great seat in block 141 (lower tiers) just far enough back from the stage to have a decent 'angle of cut' - so to say. Can't recall what I paid, but it was a resale job at pretty much face value.

Pretty soulless place is 'the new' Wembley Stadium, wouldn't really go out of my way to see anyone else there, unless I really really really had to - for whatever reason.

One memorable occurrence. Haven't seen this kind of thing in a while. Two really obnoxious drunks in the row of seats right in front of me, and one of them picked a fight with the 14 year old kid of a family sitting next to me. Other people in adjacent seats intervened when it started to get really nasty, and eventually someone called in the ushers and security - and the two a**holes were dragged off and ejected from the stadium altogether !

Apart from that brief interlude (which didn't really last that long), thought the WHO were on great form and loved the show. Always good to see these guys, they never disappoint - at least they never disappoint me personally !

Here’s my review. Thanks to a fan club pre-sale that actually worked we were right down the front in the middle (A4).

Highly recommended: Wembley Boxpark. Next to the stadium and far better food and drink than anything you will find inside. My first visit to Wembley since the last time the Stones played there and I did not notice any signs of improvement to the stadium itself.

Spoke to a guy who’s been following this tour and said it’s improving with each show. Hopefully Vancouver has the blend he spoke if between band and Orchestra.

Saw them last night,it was a mess with some brilliant moments. Pete actually apologized and said they'd be sharper as the tour goes on. The orchestra is a cool gimmick but it was much better without it.

I know they are all older...………...just like a lot of us were youngsters back then in the 60's...………...but it will never be the same .
I am so thankful The Stones and The Who are still around. God Bless all these guys.
