I was referring to the alleged US 2025 tour leak.

Yes, of course .... but my post was just a comparison of the announcement/sales days. A Friday is probably not ideal for the announcement as people/press are already mentally in the weekend.

Sorry I missed your point. You are totally right. Seems tours are usually announced on a Monday or Tuesday before the Friday general sales.

OTD, remember Malcolm Mitchell Young (6 January 1953 – 18 November 2017).

Not going to share any links but there's a rumor that Axl will join AC/DC for the 2025 NA tour. Yet no one knows anything in regard to how or why.

Rose did a pretty good job filling in for Brian in 2016 but since then, with GNR, he sounds completely castrated and unable to remotely sing yet alone sound like Axl.

Ever since Malcom left AC/DC has become a bit of a chameleon, with Brian stopping and Axl filling in, and then Brian back, and then a pretty damn good album with Cliff and Phil, then an entire new rhythm section for the tour that sounds fantastic, and, of course, Stevie.

Saw that rumor this weekend, which they credit with Sebastian Bach starting. Why Sebastian will talk about every band other than his own, I don't know why lol. Until there's more validity to it, not really taking it seriously.

Largely agree with you about AC/DC since Malcolm, which was more a testament to how consistent AC/DC had been over the years. Outside of Bon going and Malcolm and Phil taking a leave, AC/DC has been Angus, Cliff, Malcolm, Phil and either Brian or Bon. Its hard for me to care as much if its other plugged in players, good as they are. If Brian doesn't sound as good as I remember him (Angus is still superhuman), and its not the band that made those albums, I care significantly less. I know most just want to go to those shows and sing the songs. I get it, but when I feel I've seen the original thing its harder to see a knock off.

As a big GNR fan, it was shocking when Axl joined last time in 2016. I wasn't even huge on seeing AC/DC without Malcolm or Brian, but when I saw those setlists and saw how much Bon Scott stuff they were playing that I truly never thought I'd see, I had to be there. And Axl did sound phenomenal. Better than with GNR. So it was a Frankenstein thing, but combo of Axl sounding great, them playing Bon material, and this feeling like a one off I thought it was worth it. IF Axl were to come back, I just don't know what new there is to offer. Can't imagine them playing much more I want that they didn't already, and Axl sounds way worse almost a decade later. He doesn't even do the AC/DC stuff as well when he plays it with GNR. It was a shockingly good plug in then, I wouldn't really see the point of it now or think it would sound as good. And honestly when Brian came back the set was less appealing to me because it was basically the Axl setlist with Brian back in and it was no longer new/Brian didn't sound as good as Axl doing it.

I'd truly be surprised if they kept touring that it would be without Brian. At this point, everyone is so old, either Brian is there or he's not, but I can't imagine they keep trying to go if he can't do it. Why'd they have brought him back at all at that point?

What's happening in front of our eyes and ears is amazing, really: old rock singers still going. Of course, not one of them sounds as good as they did 10, 20 or 30 years ago. Mick was flat in 2024. Keith has really slipped. Brian Johnson, ha ha... same 2 notes as ever. Axl Rose is completely gone. David Gilmour strains. Bruce strains. Joe Elliot strains. Roger Daltrey strains. McCartney strains. Sting strains. Ian Astbury is still delivering solid but nothing like he used to - and he's 62! Eddie Vedder is far away from what he was but still solid.

Bob Dylan and Willie Nelson do not fit into this conversation.

Maybe that's why Rod Stewart got into classics - crooning doesn't require the same amount of energy and effort as singing rock'n'roll.

The Stones are pushing the boundaries but not everyone can be Mick Jagger. When McCartney and Mick and whoever else decide enough is enough, like Elton decided, the world will be a bizarrely quiet place in that aspect because they've been around forever. They will all stop soon.

Once the older singers are done there will be a huge transformation of the concert industry. It's going to be very weird for quite a few years. It's gonna get really weird without new music and tours from those people. I think it's really gonna catch people off guard.

Great post. I've noticed the industry is really starting to push new talent in their late 20s/30s - and a lot of it is good, ie singer/songwriters who can play and sing, etc., not manufactured tripe. I think they have seen the same "cliff" in terms of their product that you allude to here.

FAKE NEWS.

Yep: "One of our reporters misunderstood a tweet by Mitch Lafon referencing a past 2016 Axl Rose AC/DC story. Axl isn't joining the 2025 AC/DC tour! Our apologies for the mistake." - [X.com] , [ACDCfans.net] .

Shouldn't there be a teaser first on AC/DC's social media (like the countdown for Europe 2024)? But there's currently none such. There's also nothing about an immediate tour announcement on [ACDCfans.net] .

Angus doesn't care if you're in a hurry just to know something that doesn't matter when.

Odd response. There was a ton of chatter about them announcing US tour dates with seemingly reliable information over a week ago and it hasn’t come to fruition yet. You have any information or are you just trying to be antagonistic?

Neither. Just pointing out that when it happens has no influence on if it happens.

For you folks in Europe that saw this AC/DC tour there earlier this year, how much were they charging for tickets?

It appears we are going to have one on-sale for the US tour, this Friday at noon. No platinum, no fan club, no this-that-or the other pre-sale bullsh*t. Quite refreshing, actually.

Nashville? Yes!!!

With Metallica playing two nights in Nashville and only one in Atlanta and also Coldplay playing Nashville and not Atlanta next year, it looks like Nashville is overtaking Atlanta as a southern concert hub.
