For the recording gear detail freaks.

This song by The Cult, recorded for ELECTRIC but left off for some idiotic reason, is better than any song AC/DC did on BALLBREAKER.

I say that with a bit of a grin because the producer of both albums is Rick Rubin.

Maybe they felt that Born to be Wild was a better choice

It was more about making a statement, which, as a Cult fan, was completely unnecessary.

Ian:

When we came out with Electric we felt like we had to authenticate ourselves in some way as having rock and roll in our blood and thought that “Born to Be Wild” would be a good way to authenticate it. I said that it didn’t feel right, but Rick said to give it a go and I said, “Ok cool, let’s give it a go, I’m open to it,” so it ended up on the record. We didn’t need it, and it never felt right, but you’re kids and you try things out. And we’ve never really played it since.

On the ELECTRIC 13 tour they played, at most shows, Zap City, from the PEACE album that wasn't released (and was used as the B-side to Lil' Devil), in place of BTBW.

I finally broke down & bought the new cd. It's a very good AC/DC record. Rock n' roll comfort food. Great record to get hyped up for NFL Sunday with!

Getting hyped up for NFL Saturday, too, with Bills vs Broncos and Panthers vs Packers. Seahawks game should be interesting tomorrow. Washington has been on a roll lately.

Watch AC/DC tear through ‘Realize’ in innovative new video

Directors Clemens Habicht and Josh Cheuse (who serves as the band’s creative director) were able to present the impression of the five members of AC/DC performing ‘Realize’ in the same room together despite the fact that each member filmed their part individually in five separate locations, presumably due to the pandemic.

There's an annoying new commercial for some crappy restaurant with AC/DC's Back in Black blaring out from the tv.
Might be Applebees or the Sizzler, but sad to see AC/DC selling out to crap like that with one of their classic tunes...it surely taints the memories...

Edit: Just found the video, and the culprit is Applebees - my wife and I ate there once years ago, and once was enough - pure garbage.

With that name and that logo, Applebee's won't last long - they'll got mail from lawyers from Cupertino (Apple Inc.) .... winking smiley

Interesting .... in 2020 Apple didn't want to accept a Pear-logo because the leaf was too similar and in Germany some years ago Apple didn't want to accept the logos/names Apfelkind for a Café or Apfelroute for a bicycle route.

Another interesting aspect, in 1980 when it started it was probably more likely to be sued by The Beatles than Apple computers, as the lads
infamously started their lawsuit(s) against Apple computers in '78.

"In 1978, Apple Corps, the Beatles-founded holding company and owner of their record label, Apple Records, filed a lawsuit against Apple Computer for trademark infringement. The suit was settled in 1981 with an undisclosed amount being paid to Apple Corps. This amount was later revealed to be $80,000."

"In 1996 the Black Crowes started their sporadic
tradition of mysterious opening bands on Halloween
night. The first of these bands was Jelly Donut.
On Halloween night 2005 in Chicago, BC/DC took the stage!"

The best of last 20 years?! Maybe you're right! The other songs are Doom and Gloom, One More Shot and Living in a ghost town...3 usless solo songs!

Driving Too Fast has a great riff but they obviously had no sparkling idea for the chorus. Still a good song and not worse than many mediocre songs from the 70s like Silver Train.

If you don't think masculinity can be toxic, have a look at the male suicide rate.
