Yeah, I think Cliff was leaving cause the band had changed too much. It went from the Back In Black lineup to just Angus and Cliff very quickly. When it went back to 4 of 5, I don't think he minded being included.

I will say, it was cool that Angus honored him at the last show of the last tour when it really did seem like Cliff was going.

I always thought he would be back. Had over 3 years off since the tour ended so he might have gotten bored? Plus, with Brian and Phil back it was probably a good incentive as you said. I can't picture AC/DC's last show being in Philadelphia - a great city by the way. Would probably have to be Sydney. Just like the Stones last show being Miami.

As far as the new album, since it's produced by Mike Fraser again, who has worked on Razors Edge, Ball Breaker, SUL, Black Ice and Rock or Bust, I'm sure the sound quality will be similar to those albums. I believe that Warehouse Studios, where the album was recorded in downtown Vancouver, is owned by Bryan Adams.

[From UltimateClassicRock]: Before the tour's conclusion, Williams announced he was retiring from the band. "It's time for me to step out, and that's all," he explained at the time. "Not because we've lost Malcolm, Phil or Brian. I mean, everything changes when something like that happens. When Bon [Scott] died, it changed then. You know, everything changes, so it's not that."

I think it was that. Glad he's back.

Hopefully Phil is over whatever he was dealing with. His steady beat just can’t be replaced and if Angus can have more patience with Brian’s hearing issue, which he must have to get to this stage, everything should be alright.

Great to see them back. The Intro sounds a lot like Start Me Up.

Deja vu - nothing really new at all (which is expected), but more like revisiting an old friend you didn't really miss that much.
Sort of glad they're back, it's as if they never left, and life goes on....

Sounds like a mix of both! Typical sounding AC/DC song! I'm sure the album will hit #1 when it's released with the way charts are tracked these days.

"The band reportedly built an album's worth of new songs around studio outtakes from Malcolm Young's guitar tracks recorded during previous album sessions." - [www.iHeart.com] .

So, it seems AC/DC continue to follow the Stones with their integration of corporate sponsorship. I believe it was Walmart for Black Ice, Major League Baseball for Rock Or Bust, and now Dodge for PWR/UP. I wonder how much goes into offsetting the production cost of the album and promotional materials, or if it's just extra money that they get on top of what they would normally get from a record release.

To my understanding it's strictly to help cover the cost of the stages/equipment/crews.
