AC/DC TO CARRY ON WITH AXL ROSE AND RECORD NEW ALBUM

The oldest saying in the the business is THE SHOW MUST GO ON... Good for Angus.

I hope it kicks ass!

I am not going to over think it... or judge it before it happens

Managed to catch him in Flensburg, the town I was raised...
it was a great R&R show. They played most of Headjob and
3 AC/DC songs of the Bon - Era: R&R Damnation, Up To My
Neck In You and Shot Down In Flames. Btw: The show lasted
for 45 minutes...but was great anyway. He is still working
hard and never misses a beat.

We managed to get autographs after the show.

But has he got teeth problems? It looks like he hasn´t much left.

Phil's teeth rotted out of his head a few years ago from methamphetamine abuse. He has dentures but doesn't wear them all the time for some bizarre reason.

Angus also lost all of his teeth in the '70s due to poor oral hygiene and excessive sugar consumption. There are plenty of photos of him with rotted out teeth before he got dental implants.

And we all know that Keith has implants...his teeth probably wasted away due to heroin, which leeches calcium from the body.

Ha, never heard that story! I just remember reading that he lived on soda and candy bars as a young man, and by the time he was in his 20s, his teeth were goners.

The bizarre thing was: Everytime he hit the bass drum he pressed lip on lip,
and it really looked like a 90 year old eating something without teeth.
There´s an interview on YouTube, where he answers things - without teeth.
And the interviewer tries to understand.

Seeing that, Whole Lotta Rosie, perhaps Angus should join GNR.

...this could have been far worse. I heard Sammy Hagar was up for the gig.

AC/Hagar doesn't sound as good as AXL/DC.

Never heard Hagar was up for the AC/DC gig, although he's constantly talking about a Van Halen reunion, even though no one in the Van Halen camp has mentioned anything.
I'm a huge VH fan and saw the original band in 81, 82 and 84 and Van Hagar in 86,91 and 95. I don't want to see him back with VH although a reunion with Michael Anthony would be great, let Wolfie play rhythm guitar instead of bass.

While it might not roll off the tongue as easily, and might be questionable when seeing it on paper, I happen to think AC/Hagar might have been a better option.
No it wouldn't be perfect, and yes it might have diluted the sound beyond recognition, but when it comes down to it Sammy's vocals are very strong!

Imagine Highway to Hell or Back in Black sung by the Red Rocker...all I can think of is WIN!

And if AC/Hagar doesn't sound quite right, they could have been known as Sammy/DC... thumbs up smiling smiley

That being said, I couldn't stand Van Hagar, so maybe it's best the way it is.

Whatever happened to the rumour of the singer from Krokus joining Angus and company? Or maybe it was just speculation or wishful thinking...possibly buried somewhere in this very long thread...
Whatever the case, he sounds pretty close to Bon Scott, not to mention Krokus sounds alot like Bon era AC/DC.

KROKUS - Long Stick Goes Boom

Maybe he was never option given his age.
_________________________________________________________________________

EDIT: Oops got the eras mixed up...just found this story...he was actually asked to audition after Bon Scott died, but he refused!
As for replacing Brian Johnson, at the time of this story dated March 16, 2016, he says "if the offer came I would certainly take it up this time and go for an audition"...

Could Krokus Singer Marc Storace Replace Brian Johnson in AC/DC?

And I never knew Noddy Holder from Slade was offered the job to take Bon Scott's place. According to Noddy in a 2000 interview “AC/DC did offer me the job, and I turned it down".

No, it was NEVER seriously considered except by Marc Storace himself. He was actually pretty cool about it when asked in an interview...

The guy's got a great voice. He's a dead-ringer for Bon...just listen to this:

He could have done a helluva job singing both eras though. I guess AC/DC preferred someone with serious publicity buzz, which is why they recruited Axl.

You know AC/DC...they will go years without doing interviews or giving updates on anything regarding the band. The years in between Stiff Upper Lip and Black Ice were excruciating for fans, who started fearing they'd quietly retired, or were having health issues.

They're so insular and private that it can be extremely frustrating for fans. As much as I admire their no-bullshit attitude towards fame, I think they've gone too far in the other direction. They're completely cut off and inaccessible.

Yes. They are not at all media and paradoxically incredibly cool and accessible. Met them several times they are so so cool with fans.
The band communicated poorly and mismanaged Brian's departure.

Future in 2018 with Angus, Stevie, Chris (?), a new bass player and I think Axl.
