It was the first time I'd seen them since 2001, but I was 23 then and I know I didn't wear ear plugs.Quote
RollingFreakI saw them indoors on the Black Ice tour and outdoors. Indoors at Madison Square Garden, it was probably the loudest concert I've ever been to. Maybe an exaggeration, but I remember thinking in the moment "holy crap, that is quite a wall of sound being thrown at me." You couldn't escape it. Outdoors at Giants Stadium, it was much more... I don't wanna say tolerable cause its not like MSG was bad. But yeah, it was just a totally different thing. Still loud, but not to deafening volumes. Whether thats just cause it was outdoors or I was further away or I'm sure my ears have gotten worse over the years.Quote
keefriff99Honestly, I saw them at Foxboro Stadium last August without ear protection, and didn't think they were THAT loud. Whether that means my ears are already screwed or not, I don't know. I know outdoor stadium shows aren't as loud, but I was surprised how reasonable the volume was.Quote

Really sad news.
When I told a friend, he said he thinks he has hearing damage from the Ford Field show last fall. Brutally loud.
Wear your earplugs, kids.

How about the guy from Krokus? I'm serious!
Araya is singing better than he has in decades since he was forced to stop headbanging.Quote

Please pass. I just DLed an excellent recording of a 2016 show (Port Chester NY) and frankly it's depressing : slow, deprived of energy, it's really Slayer-lite, metal-by-the-numbers.
Araya sings great these days but the music... and Bostaph is deprived of any groove which doesn't help.

They can have Cinderella's singer or Airbourne's one.
So, Tom Keifer or Joel O'Keeffe.
But yes, is very hard to imagine to see AC/DC without Brian Johnson on vocals.
He is great. My favourite album of AC/DC with him is this:

It will be hard to get somebody with the same voice as Brian.
Without that that special voice, it will not be the same... completely weird.

Indeed it will:

Without Brian, it should be over.
I just asked for a refund on my tickets.
Damnit.

AC/DC is nearly as iconic as the Stones are at this point...now imagine the Stones replacing Mick or Keith for even just one show due to a cold or a flu.
It'd be unthinkable.
Same with AC/DC...it's not about who can SOUND like Brian. At this point, it's about being in the presence of their legend. Without that, you might as well go see a cover band.
