After reading our analysis of All The Way Down, I am keen to hear the outtakes of this spendid album.

I know you can hear them on youtube, but i would like them compiled as audio files (mp3 is fine)

Can anyone throw me a bone?

thank you!

I'm not a bootleg expert but you can go searching around the net for Chainsaw - Undercover Outtakes vol 1 & 2. & Undercover - Alternate takes.

Jamming With Stu (VGP 240)

There were several batches :
a. stuff that was available in the early 90s : Undercover Outtakes posted above
b. stuff that was probably found when Pathe Marconi in Boulogne was pulled down in 1992 and made it's way to the famous OBR LPs :
- Chain Saw Massacre : [www.iorr.org] - recently released with 3 additional blues jams
- All Mixed Up : [www.iorr.org]

AFAIK all the rest of the boots are variations on the above.

As a side note, Martin Elliott added a ton of info on the UC sessions in the 2012 edition of his great "Complete Recording Sessions" book and the latest update from February is here : [www.stonessessions.com]

Well, they can't be any worse than the actual album.

You're very wrong : the finished album is tons better than the raw (version I) tracks.

Finally! I've been looking for site that would've had this kind of info (on many outtakes & boots on the Stones).

The first one is source a. but good catch on the second one that is indeed a new source for the long version of "Tie You Up (the Pain of Love)" and "She Was Hot" with Bill's terrific bass "up/down" pattern. Not sure about another version of UC, I stopped keeping track ;-)

thanks all
forgive my ignorance (or incompetence), but how do you download the albums from dbboots.com?

You can't, it's just a database, but check out the links I posed to the "buy/sell/trade" IORR section. If they're dead you can always put a request.
