Always good to see any of the Stones contributing to things like this. Should do more often, imo.

FFS, Koen - is gratuitous rudeness your idea of a good time?
Run along and see what you can do to make the world a more beautiful place, ok?

Love the Mariachi horns. Maybe those guys can take over as the Stones' new brass section. And the triangle. Would work wonders on the warhorses.

I like the concept; musicians from anywhere in our world, connected by a song, playing it their way in their own environment but coming together just as One. Music rules. Thank you Keith and others.

A few years ago the same project suggested a particular version of Gimme Shelter

This is FANTASTIC. I have not seen this before.

It's just been released, so most of us had not seen it before.
Keith makes all my nerve endings light up,
and the whole track sure is mighty mighty fine.

it's like a coca cola commercial - i'd like to teach the world to sing!

seriously, this is at best cocktail lounge level playing.get up stand up?

his time would be better spent writing new music for the stones.

A wonderful set of songs, truly inspired. A real international band playing from the heart while remaining faithful to Marley's original. Love Keith's vocal on this and would love to hear more, more, more.

I doubt he spent too much time on it. But yeah, "Get Up Stand Up" did remind me of those Gap Christmas commercials. The song is supposed to be strident, angry, a call to arms. It was co-written by Peter Tosh, after all. AND the title contains two imperatives. Cover versions always sound as if they were sung by couch potatoes. "Words of Wonder" was fine, though.

...That was OBVIOUSLY a JOKE (albeit a poor one...) - I'm sure Keith wouldn't even mind.

Go chase that Motlow creature Lemmy away, if you wanna take offence of some REAL "gratuitous rudeness" - and make the world a better place whilest doing so.

we have to be careful, the keith fanboys are a sensitive bunch and start crying pretty quickly.
i go down to the islands alot and actual raggae that is played down there isnt this..a band in the lounge at one of the tourist traps plays this kinda shit.

i've seen keiths mansion on the hill where he hired the local musicians to make it look like they were one big happy family playing raggae.
after he split town some of them would come to the gate looking for money, only to be turned away.some buy it- some dont.

Word of advice, Lem:

If you're going to criticize something that others are enjoying and present yourself as an expert who has more knowledge on the subject than the others involved in the conversation, you may want to learn how to spell the topic correctly. Possibly you are an expert in RAGGAE but you'll have to tell us what your made up word means before any of us can be expected to discuss it with you.

Peace,
Mr DJA

I must have gone to the wrong parts of Jamaica. All I heard was earsplittingly painful dancehall, or taxi drivers blasting Rihanna and Beyonce. I did see Keith's house in Ocho - or a house they said was Keith's house. The Peter Tosh murder house was cool.

word of advice for you-come up with something better than a typo for a counterpoint.

About typos, check the music style you're talking about, lem.

What's your problem anyway? We get that you don't like reggae - or Keith. A Jagger only fansite might lighten you up a bit?

Why are people fighting, arguing, and being snipey ?
Keef is back. It's beautiful.
How can you not like it ?
If you don't, don't watch.
I love it.
One love.
