Just some info for those who still don't have a ticket and are not sure whether they want to buy one.
I had to sell one ticket on ebay.de and saw that there are currently nearly 1000 offers, most for more than one ticket. Almost all the tickets that I saw being sold (usually as auctions) were sold below face value. Mine too, unfortunately moody smiley The more expensive tickets were just sitting there without anyone paying attention.
In addition, there are still Lucky Dip tickets for Düsseldorf at 65 €: [www.ticketmaster.de]
One more thing about the ticket, from the Esprit Arena site (http://www.espritarena.de/news/detail/1545/die-rolling-stones-am-19-juni-aktuelle-infos-zum-konzert): The tickets for The Rolling Stones concert also give you access to local public transportation on the day of the concert.

Hi
Concerning the public transport on the day of the concert. I'll be travelling from Dortmund in the morning. On my ticket it says that Rheinbahn (DB 2. klasse) is free with my ticket. Does it mean I can travel from Dortmund to Dusseldorf for free on a local train (not ICE or EC)?

Could you specify what exactly is on your ticket?
Rheinbahn is not DB, it's the Düsseldorf local transport.
Check if there's 'VRR' on your ticket. You'll be fine if there is, because VRR includes both DB local trains to go to D'dorf and Rheinbahn to go from the Hbf to the stadium.

Plenty of tickets available at Eventim and Ticketmaster. I don‘t think they're gonna sell many more of those costing almost 300 EUR. So Lucky Dips might show up last minute(?).

The closest I will come to this show is when I flew over the venue returning to the States after Berlin. The roof was closed. Enjoy everyone.

Some of the folks we met in Zurich mentioned this...

Yes. But there is no specific party. We want to meet there. But since not everybody can be early enough there to eat together, you better eat something before meeting up with us. We choosed the corner Brauerei Uerige and Killepitsch store/bar as a meeting point. Everybody in the Old Town can tell you the way to get there. You can drink a beer there while waiting outside the Brauerei Uerige, but stay more to the side where the Killepitsch store is. So we can have a look for people wearing Stones Shirts... . We maybe move from there to Ratingerstrasse (only short walk) or else where we don't know by now. Someone (Stones Shirt) will go back to pick up people there on 7, 8, 9 and 10 pm. If it's raining you can go inside the Brauerei, but have a look on 8,9.. or .. you know what I mean. Please send me an email(my profile) if you like

Does anyone know if its possible to travel directly from the stadium to the airport with the rheinbahn after the show?

You should take a taxi from the stadium to the airport, it's not very far from there but far more comfortable than the train to the main station, from where you would have to take the next train to the airport. Taxi shouldn't cost more than about 20 Euro.

How is Dusseldorf as a city? Worth checking out? A couple of german girls asked why I was going there, with huge questionable faces.

They said, go to the show and keep travelling.

Click on the following link, there are apparently still Lucky Dip Tickets available today: [www.ticketmaster.de]
It isn't the regular site that opens when you search for Rolling Stones and Düsseldorf on ticketmaster.de, I actually got there by accident after cklicking the "VIP tickets" link from Rollingstones.com: [www.rollingstones.com]. Mind you, I haven't bought one of these tickets, so it may be a good idea to call ticketmaster and check that they sell what they are saying.

A small overview in Wikipedia.

If you have still time, you could also visit Cologne.

It says on the Esprit Arena site for the concert that the roof will be closed:
"Dach-Status:
Das Dach der ESPRIT arena wird aus produktionstechnischen Gründen bei dem Konzert geschlossen sein.
Bitte beachten Sie das Rauchverbot bei geschlossenem Dach."

Does anyone have experience if the acoustics in the Esprit Arena is good with a closed roof?

Just reread my own Düsseldorf review from 2007:

At least for the locals, about 33% of the setlist will be different this time I imagine.
The place was anything but sold out. I bought a ticket the day before or so.... winking smiley
This was made possible by 1) too high ticket prices and/or 2) too many shows. They played Germany 8 times in 2006/7, which could not be supported by those prices. There was not even e recession on back then. Now there is, prices are even higher, the show is simpler technology wise and guess what, sales are higher. What a good idea to do just 14 shows!

Anyway, I don't think I'll be going this time. Have fun, everybody! The stadium is a nice place, and with the foresight of the abovementioned Schnitzel, Currywurst, Frikadelle and Warsteiner what could possibly go wrong? smiling smiley

By the way, tickets sold through eventim.de and ticketmaster.de appear not to be the same. So if you still want to go, check both.

In 2007 they changed the stage to the long side of the stadium. Also they had seats on the floor.

Great show. Great CYHMK.

I read that Mick arranged the tour so he could watch every England game.
But England plays when he is on stage in Düsseldorf. He might have a tv next to his teleprompter.

Hi folks,

sorry to interupt you with some kind of private questions.
My girlfriend and I will stay in Artusstrasse, Rather Broich.
Is it possible to get to that area after the show, I suppose at midnight, by public transport?
If the Stones ticket include public transport, it is much more convenient to use that, and cheaper as well.
Thanks
