You get free sandwiches and the noise from the stage doesn't bother you that much, since it is quite far away. Who would resist?
From money-earning point of view yes, they sell half of those tickets than in Dusseldorf. But from customer's point of view you get EXACTLY the same as what you get in Dusseldorf for less than half of the price. Well, IF the prices are correct of course. Also I would guess that the whole standing area in Berlin won't be (much) bigger than the Diamond ring in Vienna.

Wow, an HP type of setup, best of both worlds, cool for those who can get there early !
As for DC/GC, comparing to Dusseldorf we have :

General Admission Standing Ticket = GA
...and a significant price hike! It's amazing how inconsistent the prices are on this tour! So far Vienna takes the cake...only Paris missing now, fingers crossed it's more like Dusseldorf/Stockholm.

This seems like a similar setup than the one at Hyde Park.
Meaning that if you turn up early you have a shot at the front row (which is too close because the stage will be so high!)

Where did you find this? Thanks Lorenz, this is so important before we start to buy tickets tomorrow. So the best thing would be to buy GA and to come realy early to the concert..

I did HP1 in T1 and HP2 in T3/corner of catwalk/front on the rail, actually closer than when I was in T1...obviously being in T3 was more stressful (arrived at 8AM vs 3PM) but great for memories and you feel like you've "earned" your spot as opposed to just "buying" it ;-)
Not really since basically they're half the size...but they get to sell extra GA tickets too ;-)

It's a gorgeous city, lots and lots and lots of really interesting things to see. Don't be a bore and just fly in and fly out, stay and enjoy this wonderful city. One thing you cannot miss is the Spanish Riding School. Just superb, you can watch them training and exercising the horses ...........

Good point, the counter argument of course is that they also had the fan's point of view (hum...) in mind since the diehards can be right in the front for a standard price ;-) Here's hoping that the €397.50 is indeed for the Eventtravel VIP stuff...but of course the bad news could also be that DC and GC are ONLY sold as part of packages, like the pit in the USA in 2013 and I believe the pit in Shanghai...

Yes you are right, the fact that one CAN get really close for 100 E must be counted. I normaly like to pay something extra, if it gets me the FOS guaranteed, but if the prices are right, then I would be absolutely satisfied with a GA ticket - no problem to come early and wait. IF I will be able to get a GA ticket tomorrow, of course :-)

My first Stones gig was Vienna 1982.
I was 19, came from Budapest with my brother and a friend.
We slept in a park (had no money for a hotel). Beautiful memories.
Maybe this'll be the last, this time with my four kids (14, 16, 18, 19) and my brother.
