Interesting, nice to see JPL and Bondy again...slight error by the journalist though they haven't (yet) been to Auckland.

Can't believe that in 48 hours the concert will have come and gone, this is going to be one intense little block of time, let's make the most of it!

On my way, ticketless. Hoping for Pelouse Or or a very close seat. With any luck, they'll sell extra tickets on the day...

They should skip the webvote, imho...it's become pointless.

Why? In Berlin it was almost "Wind of Change" by The Scorpions.

Ok, but really. I think they should put out OUT OF TIME. That would be a killer song for this tour!

Are they sooo awful? I just know their --apparent good-- network of buses, in London and from London to Brighton.

In France they should find another way to protest without annoying people who are not responsible and have their own problems... Un peu d'imagination que diable ! >grinning smiley<

Does anyone know if these transport strikes in France will affect the metro in Paris?

Thanks
Nate

Not the metro.

RER perhaps (SNCF).

BTW anybody got info on water bottle policy at Stade de France? Think I read somewhere they allow a bottle but make you take the cap off (yes, bring spare caps)

Yes, they usually accept bottles not larger than 50cl with the caps off.
And yes, the trick is to bring spare caps and put them back once your in place (not before as there are a lot of security guys controling the steps going in the stadium).

For those who still have no tickets, go there to pick cheap tickets from people eager to sell them before they become worthless :

There's seems to be Pelouse VIP tickets available, but you'll have to negotiate the price :

For the VIP ticket, I just contacted the guy and he requires 300€ for it, I hope he won't manage to sell it tomorrow !

Normally it's :
OUEST/Ronnie : R
EST/Keith : H

Bad news, the strike is due to continue tomorrow apparently :

It'll have little consequence if you reach the SDF by subway (RER trains is another story). Line 13 is perfect for that.
It'll be crowded but Line 13 is always crowded anyway...

Note sure that that's the question. They fight for their condition, no opinion on that (have I right to have one ?), we are in trouble for ... a show. Two different scales.

Anyway, everybody can think what he wants, I respect all, and I have trains info :
RER lines are mixed SNCF (strike possible total or partial) and RATP (no strike).
The trouble is that the change is not visible and trains can stop at the last RATP station, sometimes with info, sometimes not.
The Stade de France station seems to be on the SNCF part, so prepare to walk from gare du nord to stade de france (>5km, 1h to 1h10) straight north.
If you plan to use line 13 (from where ?), take care that there is a fork in station "La Fourche", some lines do not go on the good side.

Enjoy the show

Or even buy two from a genuine fan, who has a genuine reason for selling.

And who will be hurting like something crazy when the concert is on, and if they get to play memory motel tomorrow, well that would put me in a bad ass mood. But i wish everybody going to Paris to have a great time at the concert and hopefully get to see a bit of Paris as well.

If that can help those who are not familiar with Paris transportation

The station Gare du Nord (where RER can shut down due to strike) is called too Paris Nord (yes easy, 2 names for the same place)
Once in Paris Nord, you can take the metro line 2 direction Porte Dauphine and stop at Place de Clichy (10-12 mn)
Then jump on the line 13 direction Saint Denis Université (take care, in the same place you can take the one who goes on the wrong side of the fork - Asnières Les Courtilles). To be sure, when waiting for the M13, there is TVs and/or stations list with lights just left of the station name, lighted the train will stop at, no light will not stop at.
Out of M13 at Saint Denis Porte de Paris, then walk a little bit

Well there is many other solutions, on the RATP site you can find an interactive map but that one does not allow to skip such or such train, and so the RER (partial strike) is always the answer.

Anybody knows if the NOCTILIEN bus will be affected by the strike??

So, the situation would appear to be that it's gonna be disrupted, but we will still be able to get from CDG airport to Gare-Du-Nord ok, but maybe slowly, and then from Paris to the Stadium and back by either RER or Metro, but again, with lots of disruption ?

No, but bring your baseball bat...
NOCTILIEN buses can get "animated" (well, sometimes).

French transport strikes
Posted by: Nate ()
Date: June 12, 2014 12:35

I am getting slightly worried as I'm travelling from London to Paris tonight by road and I've just heard that part of these French transport strikes could involve truckers blocking Calais ferry port,I'm trying right now to find out information about these strikes but I don't know much at the moment,it would be great if anyone with information about this and how it could affect trains, taxis and flights could let everyone here know.

Thanks
Nate

Hi,

No problem with flights and metro.
RER and trains problems right now (=SNCF) but everybody hope the strike will stop tonight.

TODAY :
1 train /15 minutes RER D
1 train / 10 minutes RER B

I am sure everything will be OK tomorrow to go to the Stade de France.

From the beginning of the strike, the Eurostars London/Paris are not affected.

Once in Paris, the metro (not the RER!) is not affected. Ligne 13 goes to Stade de France.

I hope transports will be OK for everyone.
