Went to Las Vegas. It was pretty good. I'd give it a B grade. The highlight for me was Midnight Rambler. Was a little disappointed they didn't use Mick Taylor for a few more songs. Unless they play near where I live, probably my last show. I'm good with that, as the show was decent.

Summer in Europe - planning on several (Tel-Aviv, Berlin, Paris, Rome), lets wait n' see whether they take place as planned

It's a few days later and more shows are being confirmed little by little, so based on what the schedule looks like at the moment I'm hoping to do Tel-Aviv, followed by Berlin, Paris, Vienna, and Rome. If I add those five to the nine I've seen already since they kicked off in November 2012, that would be fourteen - the magic figure of 14. As in .......... 14 ON FIRE !! hot smiley

Philly 2. And it'll be the only concert I see this tour and probably the last time I see them. It was a phenomenal concert. Maybe not in my top 10, since it is the Stones at 70 years old, but it was truly outstanding and they pulled out all the stops. Much better than when I saw them in 2006. You can say a lot about the Stones, but you can't say they didn't give it their all until the end.

I'm always reading here (since 2001) even if not logged in or posting much. Not sure why email bounced; maybe spam filter over-reacted. I'll try pinging you now.

2013: Unemployed, $190 in my bank account, Taylor's on tour with them, closest show was going to be a 3-hr drive to Philly. But the $85's for Philly had sold out. Had seen every Keith/Stones/barbarians US tour since 1978, was resigned to not going except I really wanted to see them with Taylor; just once.

All of the sudden, they announce the last US date: an arena 2.5 miles from my apartment. Amazingly, I get a ticket screen 15 seconds into the sale, scoring 2 $85's, emptying my bank account. No upgrades seemed to be happening for the DC show, but whatever; I'll watch from the last row and pay my respects one last time, 35 years to the exact week since I first saw them.

I head to the show to collect my upper-rafter nosebleed seats to my last Stones' show and voila! Wrist-banded for Pit action and caught the show 12 feet from the stage lip on Ronnie's side with Keith coming over in front of us more than usual. It's like they knew (or, I was using up my last bit of Stones' karma credit for all of this to happen). May the ride continue for everyone in Australia and Europe later this year!

This is some story winter; good for you. I hope your bank account will change very soon to such an amount you can make a trip to Europe!

Thanks Dreamer, and Treacle, Doom, Milan and DP for the encouragement; glad you enjoyed the anecdote. The reason I wanted to post it in long form vs. just saying "DC show" was to inspire the Aussies (now for re-schedule) and Europeans who may be in similar straits and are perhaps resigned to not going.

It was very daunting being unemployed near 50 in this economy and to have the smallest (15-18 gigs total) and most expensive RS tour happening at the exact time when I was financially bottoming out. So if you're an IORRian who's in similar situation, hang in there as the European gigs and Australia re-scheds shake out. Your "Stones karma/credit" account that you've accrued over the years may have a much bigger balance than you know! Best of luck nabbing those tickets.

And keep these posts coming! It's been great reading everyone's check-ins from around the world who got to attend these 2012-2014 shows. Way cool.

Toronto 1 (Pit w/ $85's)
Rome

I might've seen more if I wasn't spending all my money following Iron Maiden all over the world (my favorite band). But then again I probably wouldn't be seeing the Rome gig either if I didn't conveniently have 2 weeks of Maiden gigs in Europe lined up starting 2 days later...smoking smiley

YES, THEY WERE! grinning smiley
Besides the two Philly shows, went to the DC show, and to Newark 2 in 2012. Seems like yesterday, scary how fast time flies by. I hope to see the band back in the US in the next few years, but I can also be happy knowing that I saw such great shows in this last tour. If you do have the opportunity to get to a show in 2014, don't pass it up.

O2/1 and O2/2, Hyde Park 1 and 2. Both Hyde Parks were wonderful, but O2/1 was something else - the setlist and staging were then new, and the much-improved performance was a lovely surprise. Add the closest seat I've ever had and that makes it the show of the tour for me.

O2/1 and HP2 for me - but the comment sums it up perfectly cool smiley

How many people here have seen this tour & which show/shows did you go to?

5-31-13 Chicago, Ill. 2md night.

I was mightily impressed by this show! Great sound. Great energy. Sheryl Crow was the guest, but I still enjoyed it. Taylor played on 4 songs including 'C.Y.H.M.K.' & "Rambler', 'M.R.' Was hot that night!

There was very little rest between songs, it was just one song after the other. And we sang Happy Birthday to Charlie, doesn't get any better than that huh?

Hyde Park 13/7, waiting for Paris going on sale

O2/1, Chicago/1, and Hyde Park/1.

All great in different ways--I think I'd have to give the O2 the nod as my favorite, because it was their first show for years, the first time I'd seen them in years, I was so worried about how good they would or wouldn't be . . . And they were terrific and I had the time of my life with my oldest friend. smiling smiley

Trabendo warm up gig

Chicago #1 and #2
Hyde Park #2
The Rehearsal warm up gig in Bondy (still in shock about that one)

...to come
Berlin
Zurich
Paris

After the last O2 in 2007, i really thought it was definitely over. Can't believe i have seen them 7 more times in a year. Can't believe it really!
A friend of mine (i've seen my first show with him in 82) called me today to tell me he had got Berlin tixs for us. And suddenly we were like teenagers again, excited, euphoric, laughing like hysteric idiots on the phone.

O2 1 and 2, Hyde Park 1 and 2. Those O2 shows were just off the wall as far as I was concerned. Hyde Park 1 and 2 were special , I am glad I went, but did not compare to the O2.

I was at Singapore, and it did have a much different and more intimate atmosphere, but hey it was 8000 vs 60000 in the crowd. And I held onto my tickets for 3 shows in AUstralia and one in NZ hopefully in October.

O2 1
O2 2
Hyde Park 1
Hyde Park 2
Macau
Shanghai

Maybe 3 or so in Europe.

The O2 shows were up there - the first not least for being the first in five years and the novelty of the pit. The second was slightly better musically, as was HP2 compared to HP1. But that Shanghai show topped them all.

Hi everyone,
I am a newbie and this is my very first post here.
The alias comes from the Japanese, "do you have a curfew?" or something to that effect -- that was addressed by Mick from time to time to the girls in the crowd, always winning a big, good laugh from us.

O2 #2
Hyde Park #2
Tokyo #3

The last concert in Tokyo not only beat O2 and HP, but also is the best of the 27 RS shows I have attended between 1989 and 2014, including 7 shows overseas (US, UK and Canada), hands down. Many voices on the Japanese internet forums agree that this is the best of all the 39 shows they have ever given to us, too.

I even feel like rating this among the greatest concerts of their 50 years' carrier. I am quite certain very few who was there to witness it in person defies that impression.
