Good for Charlie!
Like the other Stones, Charlie knows that Australia is where Mick has relatives he always enjoys seeing and is the country of Mick's mother's birth.

Good to know how supportive all the band members are towards Mick in this terrible time. Seem's he truely is distrought over it all and you really have to feel for him.

I was such a huge fan of the Stones when I was younger that I read everything about them I could get my hands on. I'm amazed I never knew that. Thanks!

Charlie is amazing.

I have the feeling that of all the Stones it is Charlie who with his unique temper, is Mick's most trusted man - a solid rock he can count on, and who really is there when most needed. Especially in times like these.

I also take Charlie's ex tempore gig as a little sign for Australian fans that they haven't forgotten them. A sign of that life goes on, and they will be back, as he told to interviewer.

It could be that the Stones need a leader when the boss is dysfunctional. And a silent hero, a man of action and no bullshit like Charlie steps in.

Charlie is a joy to see and hear when he plays a small venue in his own right (Ronnie, too), playing his beloved jazz, or boogie woogie or whatever with friends. Usually that's in Europe when the Stones are 'resting', so great to see it happened in Australia and at least one of them played in Oz this time round.

Can Charlie be my friend, too. Thank God for Charlie being there for Mick, the band, and everyone else.

Great post Doxa! Very well said!

Charlie seems to be A ROCK. He seems to be a stabilizing force in this crazy band and such a unique drummer. And from what I think I have heard over the years Charlie has a sense of humor which I truly appreciate.

I believe they are his daughter and granddaughter.

Thanks for the posting of the TV news piece. Perth looks like a wonderful place to visit. Hope they make it back there in October as rumoured.

Yes...again very well put Doxa. Even succinctly! (apologize in advance for the seeming backhanded compliment)

I was at the Tim & Charlie gig. It was excellent. Charlie played on HTW and RT. We got photos with him after the show. Only about 130 people in the club.

Is there any video or audio from this gig?
