Thinking back on what I saw, and looking at photos and vids, am I correct in thinking that Keith and Ronnie weren't smoking last night? Only in Singapore, if that's true

Thank you . Someone else reminded me of the show in Vegas at the joint where
2000 people attended. This is too large to be considered a "club show" but
other than Radio City and the above mentioned Vegas show I cannot think of
a non club show this small. I can imagine how great it was being so close to
the action. Glad you all had a great time.
As for the $$$$ part, I have always been interested since they started reporting
in 89 what each show grosses. Some people think it's silly, but the Stones have
grossed more than any band touring at an estimated 1.5 billion . U2 , unfortunately, defeated ABB gross of 550 million with over 755 million . I think
they are the only band that ultimately will surpass the Stones gross. I concede
my bias for the Stones and I do not like U2. Nonetheless, U2 seems to have a much
stronger fan base developed on the 8o's and 90's while our fan base seems to be
more from 60's and 70's. My theory is we lost a tremendous amount of fans in the
mid 70's when heavy metal became popular and the stone where experimenting with
funk, reggae, and dance. By the 80's, after Tattoo You, the albums were nothing
special and not touring until 89 cost us more fans. The Stones never fit into
the MTV crowd and then grunge ruled the 90's. Thus, I believe Jagger and Cohl
were brilliant in marketing the band to a more affluent audience as they made
more in the last 30 years even though the great work was mostly 60 and early 70's. Artistically , however, there is no denying that it was secondary to
maximizing the tour revenue with each tour more elaborate and expensive.

The stage was very very low, I would say club show heigth like 5 feet max. I.e. somethink like 1,5 meters. I am 1.81 and I looked far down to the floor. And I had a great seat, believe me. I did not even have to self-upgrade on this show, but I had to take care of my position. It was tough. Very tough. It seemed like EVERYBODY wanted to be in row one, hundreds, and I chose the right time, the right place, and the right "pal" next to me.

Well I was dead center next to my pal. He was very nice, an expat, had seen the Stones 5 times over the past 40 years, including the 70's, 80's, two times in Singapore last time 2003, and now this night. Security cleared out the entire Ronnie side front in a massive operation that took a dozen security people (or two) and half an hour from 8pm onwards. The security people on my side (Mick side and also Keith side) had an extended meeting with the guys behind me. I checked the time and I saw the clock was ticking closer to 8:30pm. Then saved by the bell at 8:31pm they were on. We had another mysterious security raid like hald an hour into the show. I can't believe they tried to move out a mountain of fans who enjoyed the show, it was long time into I don't know, may be TD or Wild Horses. But in the end they (security) realized this was a rock'n'roll show, and we could concentrate on the stage. Well to be honest I am very good at masking out all sorts of outside disturbance when the Stones are on stage.

WAS IT SOLD OUT?
It was so sold out it could make a grown man cry! It sold out in an instant. This was a 5,000 capacity ballrom. Slightly bigger than Brixton Academy (3,800 people). The could have sold out 2-3 shows at the very same venue. They added an outdoor screen with a live telecaast of the show. Better than nothing. The Stones even went outside for real for a minute to say hello on the stage outside, so this was a special event.

While they performed this totally sold out show in Singapore they sold out festival tickets in Europe. I don't believe in all these crazy ideas about tickets not selling or sales being slow. They sell out faster than you have time to hit the BUY NOW button, and please do not waste any time. If they play anywhere near you, move mountains, sell your bike or car, go see them. You will not regret!

Thank you BV. I have stood next to you 5 times in pit in US ( disappointed in Brooklyn when MT did not play) and spoken to you many times at other North American shows including Churchill Downs. I tend to worry about the sales only
because the haters try and make it appear that the Stones are no longer relevant.

Well if you are looking for the BAD news I would say that Singapore was TOO HOT so the Stones could only perform at 90% level while in Shanghai they did it like 120% and Tokyo Dome 100% every night. No reason to complain. Anyone will have problems with the heat. You simply can not perform 100% when it is too warm. But Mick did a sprint run down the very short "runway" at one point. Fastest race of the tour.

If they had performed tonight in Singapore rather than last night then that would have been the best show of the tour because it is RAIN FALL DOWN in Singapore now. In buckets. Good for me. I love the sun and I hate the rain, but I can work, and with a back log ass long as long as an arm and a leg I might actually do a lot before my night flight to Perth.

I don't know about everyone else but NO ONE asked to see my ticket, even at the bag check area. Could have just walked in without paying. There were empty seats in front of me Bt I assumed people upgraded to the front.

Just before their performance at the Marina Bay Sands Grand Ballroom on March 15, they made a surprise appearance at the event plaza.
