There was some talk about one of the Japan shows being filmed and/or broadcast. I had a hunch some of those rare tunes they did in rehearsals might be utilized. Not sure what happened there. Maybe Australia? Considering there is already an official live document from this "tour" (Hyde Park), maybe that is enough for them. Personally, I'd like to see some more of the bootleg series type audio releases that they did recently (Brussels, etc).

Not necessarily. An act can usually decide how much (if any) of their set can be shown.

When Springsteen played Rock in Rio in Lisbon in 2012, only 6 of the 24 songs he played was shown live on the YouTube stream of the gig, with 2 more being added later on. Only four of the 23 songs he played at Pinkpop a week earlier were broadcast on TV & radio. He also played Roskilde that summer and none of the show was broadcast (just one song was later shown on his YouTube channel)

Then there was the time most if not all of John Mellencamp's set was cut out of Live Aid because of (what I figured were) a few political sentences he said at the beginning.

Mellencamp didn't play at Live Aid.

Every year Pinkpop festival is broadcast live for three days on one of Dutch public television networks (Nederland 3). Last year, all stages were recorded and the broadcast was streamed through channels like 3voor12, [3voor12.vpro.nl]

However, I think Jan Smeets, the Pinkpop boss who's always been a huge RS-fan and already managed to get the VL and BtB tours to the festivalsite (but not at Pinkpop festival itself), might have been so eager to get the Stones to Pinkpop that he might have negotiated a deal that forbids complete broadcasting.

What possible concerts by the Rolling Stones European tour in 2014 could be aired live on television in Europe?

Perhaps some of Roskilde will be aired. Danish TV channel DR2 usually does some highlights.

Japanese TV broadcasted the whole concert of the Stones at Saitama Super Arena, recorded on Sunday April 2nd 2006. Besides there was no advertisement cut. It was on air in Japan only a few days after the show.
Why European TV are not able to do the same thing?! angry smiley

Maybe snippets from the Oslo tour start and some songs from the Roskilde festival. I guess...

Pinkpop is usually on air. Not the whole festival tough. Also on radio.

Most of the shows are shown by webcast online if the artists / group give their permission. Highlights of the performances will be broadcasted. Not the complete festival will be broadcasted.

Maybe we can also expect some footage of the Rock in Lisbon show

Rock in Rio is available as a webcast too, although it depends on how much the artist wants shown. They broadcast about 4 songs of Springsteen's set a couple of years ago.

Absolutely right Gazza!
Sic Radical, Channel 9 in Portugal, got the exclusive for broadcasting all the concerts from Rock in Rio. I have some friend who works for that channel and I asked one of them who told that they will soon ask the Stones what is possible to do. Usually, even the headliners allows 3/4 songs to be live broadcast. I´ll post if anything surfaces...
