The setlist itself looked so much better during the Michael Cohl years -- this looks like something a high school kid did on Microsoft Word.

LOL, finally there's something new to complain about: The layout of their setlists is boring. grinning smiley

yeah the "awwwww no" section or IORR has reached a new bottom! >grinning smiley<
Next? The toilet paper at the Dome wasn't premium quality : my arse is sore!
Wouldn't have happened under Cohl!

LOL thumbs up

Haven't the setlist complaints all been worn out? Next we should start bitching about the lighting sequences during songs....winking smiley

Yeah...the lighting sequence is getting SO predictable. Also- why is Keith always on the right?! & the guy at the back is ALWAYS SITTING DOWN!. It's a disgrace!! ;-)

4 song night for Mick Taylor. Hopefully becomes the norm.

It'd be even nicer if all four songs were tracks he originally played on. AND if he was audible on electric guitar on all of them!

Aww Gazza, don't rain on the parade.

Looks like a fun time last night, at least for those at home taking it in vicariously. Looking forward to on the ground reports!

I've reached home now.

What a show! I can't begin to describe it.

Keith was a breadwinner tonight. His elastic and rhythmic guitar was splendid.
Keith always played pleasantly his riff on Tumbling Dice or Honky Tonk Women.

About Silver Train, I want to update later.

I noticed Mick Taylor played a beautiful lead solo on Slipping Away.
He and Keith played twin lead guitar at the last part of that song.
It was almost like "If you really want to be my friend" or "Till the next goodbye"
Mick clapped his hand and thumbed up to Keith after Keith ended the song.
That was one of the beautiful moment tonight.smiling smiley

Tonight, Mick Taylor was smoking behind Darryl's Ampeg bass amp when Keith was singing Happy.
Mick was also dancing behind Charlie when the band was playing Honky Tonk Women.
And he was wearing sunglasses on Satisfaction. That was very cool.

As Keith didn't walk on the catwalk tonight on Miss You, I thought as if he decided to play in front of Charlie and Bobby and support the band tonight.
But he was hell on wheels about after Gimme Shelter. He was on the go.

Mick held a microphone stand and swinging around when he was singing Paint It Black. That was uncommon sight lately, right?
Mick was shouting "Tokyo We gotta go" again and again on Satisfaction.
That was great!

I was singing to myself on the way home from Tokyo Dome,
"Always Look on the Bright Side of Their Live!"smiling smiley

Great performance.
I think that's what rock and roll is all about, merging all those different skins, generations and genders together.

P.S.
People from Prudential were sitting in the front row.(I was in second row)
They were sitting all through the show even though they are two generations younger than Stones!
All of them were fat people and wearing gray suit and tie.
Some of them left and went home when Keith started Slipping Away.
Anyway, I could see the show like in the very front row thanks to Prudential sucks.
I was lucky enough.grinning smiley

After the first show, where Keith messed up intros, and seemed detached as he did in a number of shows following the accident, I was expecting the worst, and just hoping that he could keep it together. Instead, we saw a Keith that was energized and engaged. His eyes were wide open and alert throughout the show and his playing was inspired. Perhaps like all 70 year olds who have had a stroke he had his good days - tonight was a "good day" and with a great crowd and Mick and Ronnie breaking out the slides for "Silver Train", it added up to one of the most entertaining stadium shows in recent memory. I hope someone caught it for youtube, but during Sympathy, Keith went out to the center stage and the , in one quick motion, wheeled around and RAN back to the main stage. My jaw was on the floor - I thought it was a body double.

Anyway, a wonderful show. Life-affirming in its own small way.

About Silver Train,

I shuddered in ecstasy when they started to play Silver Train with Mick Taylor.
It has started with Keith's springy riff.
I never thought I would ever be able to listen this song just in front of me.
Can you imagine twin slide guitar on this great song?
Mick Taylor played slide with white Stratocaster.
Ronnie played his role as steam whistle by his slide.

My first guitar was white Stratocaster.
I bought this song book below and we played Silver Train four decades ago.

I can't believe it even now.

Toru: Nice recollection. It is so nice to read how you are as excited tonight as you were 40 years ago. That is the magic of the Rolling Stones. I don't enjoy them live anymore but I still love listening to the old stuff and reliving the memories. More power to you.

Sounds like they've continued the tradition from the US tour of doing their best shows on 2nd nights in a city.

So we're back to the standard 2 song encore then, none of that fancy 4 song AD encore anymore!

Interesting setlist, if only for ST, last played 40 years, 5 months and 26 days ago, which has to be the biggest gap behind "Lady Jane", which was 45+ years!

Wonder what they have up their sleeve for Tokyo 3...will they chance "Till the Next Goodbye" instead of "Angie"? It's the time or never!

I Wanna Be Your Man last played August 13, 1964 before November 25, 2012; so the gap was 48 years, 3 months, 12 days. tongue sticking out smiley

Now I'm back to my home.

As I couldn't attend 1st show, tonight was the first show for me.

It was awesome.
I was told from my friend who attended 1st show that don't expect too much from Keith.
But tonight, his performance was pretty good.
And Mick Taylor ! Taylor night tonight !! Tonight's "Midnight Rambler" is the best ever for me.

Taylor's slide was ring finger.
And Ronnie was middle.

Looks like was "one of these nights" then, good for all who were there!

@Screamer - indeed and I was there too at the O2 so should have known, somehow it seemed more impressive that they dusted off LJ than IWBYM...possibly because it was expected after being rehearsed often in Paris ;-)

What intros did he mess up really? The only thing I spotted was that he wasn't able to hear properly on Slipping Away, and ordered the band to stop it - to do it properly.

No, I was referring to AD, but wondered which other intros drbryant thought Keith did mess up.

I think the 14 On Fire setlists are a huge letdown compared to 50 and Counting. Now they have one single spot (one!!!) for a deep album cut, and by the time they hit Europe they will surely be doing an 18 song set...I seriously doubt that I will be going just to see another Licks show minus any rarity!

I'm glad they did Silver Train anyway, but c'mon their web choice is a joke. They apparently consider You Got Me Rockin a rarity...eye rolling smiley
