2000 Light Years intro on '72 tour....

I recently got the 7-CD set of the STP tour
and noticed one show started with the 2000 Light Years into,
then Chip Monck says "L&G, TRS."
Then the band slams into Brown Sugar.
Sounded great. Fantastic build up. JUst like FFTCM in "75.
How many shows was this done at? It was a revelation to me,
as I had never heard this before. Was it done at all the shows,
just a few, just one?
Interesting version of Loving Cup, too.

Don't know the answer to your question Tom but I did see them twice on that tour, (spoiled me forever!). It's nice though to see a post where someone isn't ragging about ticket prices or how washed up The Stones are, thanks.

I ain't stupid, I'm just guitarded.

I dont know the answer to your question tomk but does anyone know if the outro music (after the encore) was "Wild World" (Cat Stevens) at all 72 concerts or most or was that simply done for the L&G movie. Just curious.

Rankie,
When you've a moment would you please reply and tell us all which shows you saw and everything you can remember? There are those of us for whom the '72 shows contain the air we need to breathe and any scrip-scraps of info. are manna from 'eaven.

Touring Party 1972 is the name of the set released on Rattlesnake in a long box with book. If you can find one it's a must as well as their Handsome Girls box set.

Dear Martingo,

Have you seen the Stones at Charlotte 72 ??
The well known audience source only starts with the latter part of Bitch.

My guess is that the intro is only used a few times. We have many audience tapes who have about half a minute audience flutter before BS but without 2000 lightyears.

I have asked chip monck many times ; he replies questions with a lot of words but never comes to the point.

As outro for the Winterland shows Greensleeves was aired. A standard for Bill Graham productions.
