Any truth to the rumors of people playing under the stage?
Having worked for the Stones on past tours I can answer this question myself.
No...there is nobody else playing under the stage, or behind the stage!
No one playing on the stage either, it's all tapes, even the mistakes are pre - mixed in.....................><
Really?
Really.......seriously though, these days, who knows what's what? I just got a boot DVd of LA 20th May last year.
At the beginning of Midnight Rambler, Mick is close up by Mick Taylor playing the intro on the harmonica, Mick T is responding, then Mick Jagger walks away across the stage, lowers the harmonica down to his left side but the music carries on,,,,,,,,,,as though he is still playing...maybe the botlegger dubbed the wrong sountrack on the video?
I heard the other day that the beginning of Sympathy is a loop tape, that was really apparent at Glastonbury, full sound for the intro but no one playing anything....so, yeah, who knows what's live and what's tape?........
The only pre-recorded tracks they use in the shows these days are the percussion loops on SFTD. Everything else is live. Charlie does not usually use a click track except for Sympathy. Chuck counts off the tempos which he gets from a metronome in his earpiece or on his keyboard.

Just bad syncing. Of course Mick's harp is live. It's never quite the same...

No, it was more than that...the first bit was well synced and looked real enough but then it went on for 30/40 seconds when Mick was holding it down by his side. I've seeen badly synced shows and this wasn't just that.
I haven't watched the whole show yet so it'll be interesting to see what's what with it right through............

That doesn't make any sense. If Mick was not able to play harmonica on that night for whatever reason they would not have put Midnight Rambler in the set. Period. We all know he can play so there is no reason for them to do that. And even if they were to ever lip-sync you can be sure Mick wouldn't be so sloppy with it as to have the harmonica or microphone down at his side while the track played on.
Post the video in question here and let us decide.

Gear questions:
- Is everyone in the Stones camp now totally disenchanted with the Music Man Silhouettes and Kramer guitars used in the late eighties/early nineties? What's your opinion on them?

Q: Has Keith ever been approached by a manufacturer (Fender?) to have a signature model guitar? No doubt that a Keith Tele 5-string would be a big seller
Yes. it's somewhere in here:Quote
