Abu Dhabi, Du Arena has a 31,500 capacity. In Tokyo Dome they played to a 50,000+ crowd.

It seems like that they have a bigger stage for the shows in Abu Dhabi, Toyko, Adelaide, Hanging rock and Auckland. All others are with the original Tonguepit stage. I could imagine that it might be changeable or a stage design where parts will only be used. logistic wise it's obviouss that they have a lot of time between Tokyo and Adelaide. So perhaps there have a half and half lego system

Tokyo - yes. Should have mentioned that one. Abu Dhabi and Hanging Rock are arena-sized shows, though. Guess we'll see in a few weeks!
the stage layout of Abu Dhabi and Hanging Rock at Ticketmaster (not the seating/Staning) is the same as Adelaide and Tokyo. This is why I assumed that the stage could be similar.

Unless I've been completely misinformed, all five venues you mentioned will have the same stage concept, i.e. the "Hyde Park setup" but without the oak tree decor.

As my wife doesn´t allow me to fly Abu Dhabi or elsewhere (sad smiley): Is there a chance for another PPV-Gig on this tour, perhaps down under? Any Infos on that circulating?

"... fell short to remain on board for a more traditional tour."
Hope that means much much stadium shows and much more shows at all winking smiley

Stadiums yes, but "much more shows", no, that's a thing of the past, bv's mentioned that several times and Charlie's latest interview confirms it, if need be.

Abu Dhabi seems to be a mixed HP/Tongue Pit setup, not sure why they wouldn't use that everywhere?

Maybe it's hard to produce a such big Tongue Pit setup for an outdoor stage...

No rumours (yet) for a warm-up gig (try-out) in Paris?

Yes but from what I read this rumor is from ONE and only one source... confused smiley
And, do you think realistic a warm-up show just after one week of rehearsals?

A more recent post on Twitter has a guy saying the Trianon told him there was a corporate party on Monday the 10th...not that they would confirm a Stones' show of course!

After what we heard yesterday there's little doubt they could play a show on Monday, they didn't sound rusty at all!

theyve only been off the road seven months. They dont really need extensive rehearsal time like they would at the start of a world tour after a gap of several years. Especially for a tour of about 13-14 one nighters where the setlists will probably be almost identical.

Even in 2007 when they rehearsed in Belgium before the Euroean tour after having been off the road six months, they still only spent a few days together.

OK thanks, they will be ready.

So now: is it a true information? If yes, I hope I could go this time!

They still need one more concert for their 14 on fire tour.

The TONGUE PIT STAGE does not work in a stadium with more than 25,000 people, as it does not have a long ramp into the center of the stadium. It looks like they will mix & match two different stage concepts with logistics, i.e. some bits are shared, some bits unique.

'14' refers to the year!

Wow. I bet we're not the only ones who didn't make that connection. Doesn't exactly roll off the tongue like "Beatles '65" or "The '89 Tour". I thought it was something about the number of concerts around the volcanic "Ring of Fire".

I'm guess fire will be a theme, replacing the gorilla.

You have put more thought into "14 on Fire" than whomever the band had hired.

Mine too (more or less Maastricht).... I hope MJ won't spoil it again for Jan Smeets (as in 1979)

Re: Stones on Pinkpop: only Jagger can spoil the deal!!!

Hm, I don't know how smart it is by Smeets to use the media to put pressure on Jagger.

He probably would have been better off with commenting on this when the deal was done, imo.

Probably not his intention to put "pressure" on Jagger...just referring as a joke to 1979 I guess

Well, it was not that Jan was looking for media attention (although he certainly isn't allergic to it smiling smiley), the DJ called him up and was pulling the info out of him. Jan was very reserved and pre-cautious (I don't blame him!), because it already happened to him before with Mick Jagger who was supposed to appear on Pinkpop and finally it did not happen. So no guarantees yet from his side, but it's looking good! Tomorrow end of day it should be settled officially.

I'm really looking forward to the new outdoor stage design. The stadium stage of the last (ABB ) tour was really exciting. We'll see if they top that ...
