The press release yesterday said the they would be announcing two more big shows in Asia, so just need to be patient.

The stadium stage they used in Copacabana Rio, Buenos Aires and New Zealand 2006 was a budget low scaled version, very different from the rest of that tour. With the large distances on this tour, and the original 30 trucks needed for the "50 and counting stage", I will assume they have done some smart downsizing that is keeping the great parts of the show still saving some cargo, so that they can fly this stuff. You can not use boat or roads between these places...

Wow, they used 30 trucks for the 2013 arena tour? How does that compare to the stadium tours of the past? I would have thought it would have been a lot less since in an arena.

I remember counting all the 30 red trucks scattered all around the venue at Newark last year. That is exactly half of the number of trucks they used for stadium shows, and at least double count vs. the previous arena shows. So for sure "50 and counting" is a high-end show when it comes to staging costs.

There were much less in Washington on the last Show, sure not 30. I remember also that some parts of the stage for the US Tour were a Little different than to the Shows in 2012

The North American experience was that deals cropped up closer to show date because the super high end bracket didn't have that many takers. Expect some category 1 & 2 seats at category 3 prices in the days before the show. Of course that's if you can handle the uncertainty until then.

True but I think because there's only show in Melb (apart from the Rock) they will be sold quickly. Maybe there's a chance to get cheaper tickets at Hanging Rock closer to the time.

Well, had an interesting day on the presales.

After getting front and centre in Adelaide, I wanted an indoor experience up close.

Missed out in Sydney and Melbourne pre-sales on $580 tongue pit tickets and was very tempted to get a Sydney $1275 package.

I note that my Ticketek method is very sharp, like a cheetah and I never miss out with Springsteen pit presales which obviously have much more tickets.

Brisbane comes along and it was very easy to get a $580 pit in comparison. I'm from there so at least I don't have to pay for a hotel with family there.

Point of interest: I would love to know how many tongue pits are at the $580 price. I would bet not many, even in the general onsale.Vast majority would be $1275 packages.

A good trick to make it look like you are offering top tickets at only $580.

Well I broke down and bought a pit package for Sydney also , see you all there. Other thna that , it has been incredibly frustrating to finally get into the site and find allocations gone city after city today! And these packages, I am also beginning to suspect that they outnumber the regular tickets at least today. But YIKES, I went down to a Ruby Package in Melbourne and basically your paying advertised PIT price to sit upper level row MM or some crap!

What has been equally disenchanting is to spend hours online, give up after an hour for each city, then find the tickets you want at seatwave or viagogo for prices that numb the mind. Well I am gonna give Perth a try here in a while. Good luck to everyone else!

WHAT A DISENCHANTING DAY OF FRUSTRATION TRYING TO GET TICKETS AND THOSE OFFERED ARE VERY AVERAGE FOR TOP DOLLAR. TRIED FOR PITS FOR ALL SHOWS BUT YA GOTTA BE ON SOME SERIOUS SPEED(sic) TO GET THEM.

Can someone tell me for the USA arena shows this year were most of the tickets in the $350 to $600 range or are the Stones just fleecing us Aussies?

Yes, prices are about the same as the US and yes, you are getting fleeced.

Well, did two Tongue Pit packages for me and my daughter and a decent but definitely not great Cat 1 for my wife, who doesn't want to stand for hours. Daughter is on Spring Holiday, so it's a nice opportunity to do two days in Melbourne and two days im Sydney.

Also figured out that I can pay for all tickets and hotel by flying Economy instead of Business, so that's a given. One thing though is whether Qantas premium economy is worth 50 percent more than regular Economy. From the website, it looks almost like Business class. It's a long flight for us (11 hours) so I'm thinking it might be worth it. Anyone familiar with Qantas International Premium Economy?

So you might see a Swiss T Shirt and/or flag waving in:
Adelaide (somewhere premier seating)
Sydney: Tongue Pit
Melbourne: Toungue Pit
Hanging Rock: A3 row B
Brisbane: Tongue Pit.

See you there.

I haven't flown Qantas premium economy as yet mainly down the back end of the plane for Qantas International. The seats are bit wider and not as many of them, food is supposed to be a step up from economy and also preferential boarding is given to premium passengers - if you the $ or the points to upgrade on a long flight I would suggest it.
