This idea just popped in my head when I read the thread about the 100 top songs by the Stones in Germany. I believe the Beatles may have sung Michelle in French, and maybe a few other songs in other languages, possibly Spanish. Other artists have sung in other languages also.

I cannot imagine listening to a Stones song and being totally unable to understand the words. Do the Germans or any other non-English speaking people have any clue to the point of the song. At a concert, for instance, are the lyrics in the native language provided on the video screen, beneath closeups of Keith and Mick? Or are the fans just supposed to groove with the rhythm? Much of the time, Mick cannot be understood anyway, but that is a subject for another thread.

I believe I would probably LOL if I heard Brown Sugar being sung in German which,let's face it, has a harsh and non musical quality to it. Achtung.
