Thanks for putting that list together, I wonder if they will resurrect "Harlem Shuffle" or "One Hit" to have something off of DW...

Would actually be nice with a track from ABB as well.

Laugh, I Nearly Died? Could work in the same way OOC does, imo.

Oh right, had forgotten about that one...LIND would be great but probably a "hard sell" being slow and likely unknown to most in attendance. RJ, RFD, BOMH or ONNYA (if played Press Conference style) would probably be "easier" but will they bother?

You are absolutely right.
SILVER TRAIN IT WAS.
The lyrics were including:
And I did not know her name
And I did not know here name
I will correct my original post.
Sure it was SILVER TRAIN once more.
There were lots of noise at that time, but now it is 100% right finally!

Mick Taylor should not be expected to be present for the first day or even the first week of rehearsals. He is a special guest on the tour, he has not rejoined the Stones nor will he be asked to. Like last year, he'll show up eventually and rehearse a few numbers, but he won't have a more involved role than on the last leg of the tour.

We'll see about that... later. smiling smiley

There was a funny "incident" yesterday : in the midst of the rehearsals a black cab arrived and someone screamed "it's Mick Taylor!!!".
Everyone ran to the cab and the person who got out of the vehicle was... a tall young [= in her 20's] blonde woman in a fur coat! grinning smiley

30 songs coming from the first decade, 20 songs coming from the last 3 decades.

20 songs from the last 3 decades ?? I count only FOUR .... maybe 5 if you count "She Was Hot" which is close but, technically over 3 decades old.

It is 2014. Three decades ago it was 1984. Even if you throw in the Tattoo You tracks and the Emotional Rescue tracks we're not even close to approaching 20 songs.

This is a lovely version. Even better than the original, imo thumbs up

Who is gonna be ripping out those benders on this? Keith or Ronnie

Ronnie, hopefully, if Taylor isn't with them on this. Keith HAS to play that rhythm.

Good grief, you really must be kidding.

DLS, LIV, Silver Train and the like without Taylor fall flat on their faces. Neither Ronnie nor Richards is able to add that special something that's needed to make those songs sound great. To make them sound special they simply need Taylor badly.

Been listening to the UK Aftermath lately, and it's a shame, there is so much great material on there, and it's been forgotten live. It's all basically straight ahead rock, with a little country here and there, that would seem to translate pretty well to the stage(maybe the smaller stage). Before Let It Bleed, it's basically singles or nothing.

Based on the absence of Mick Taylor, looks like I do NOT have to fly from New York to catch these shows in Asia and Oz. Drink up Silver Train if you get it and I can't wait to hear the recordings.

My 17 year old son is in Paris on a semester abroad program; he came with me to see the band in Philly last June. (Our family loves the Stones and France). smiling smiley

Can some kind phan can e-mail me privately the location of the rehearsals so I can direct him accordingly? Look out for him if you see a young fan come up for a listen. Thanks to all for the GRrrreat reports!

Did you really listen to this El Mocambo version? eye rolling smiley

Why don't you like it? It's a little too easy to say you don't like it only because it lacks Taylor, since everybody is playing really good here.

This version has the energy the studio version so sorely lacks, imo.

Ronnie can handle it, just like ADTL, Shine a Light, etc., it's just that a little of the soul of the song disappears. Casual fans might not know the difference, but it's noticable within about two seconds that something's missing.
