Silver Train!!

Now we just need Had It With You, Time Waits For No One, Star Star and Little Queenie, and the setlist is done!

Well Silver Train is a good start.

But I'm hoping for:

Doncha Bother Me
Stupid Girl
Out of Time
Heart of Stone
Moonlight Mile
Casino Boogie
Dance Little Sister
Melody
Lies
Slave

the possibility of a live version of Slave, while remote, is interesting..it is one of their jammiest tunes..

thumbs up

Charlie is passing this guy by with a look that says sorry mate I'm just here to work. Which is basically his attitude during a tour I think. Does he sign many things for fans?

Charlie is a nice guy - he gives an autograph here and there, I have one from him when I met him in an airport.

I met Charlie six times. Each time he signed for me CD covers, book,…
Each time, he signed easily.
However he does not like to be taken in photo.

Is there any word on when rehearsals finish up? I'm worried I come to Paris on Sunday and they've gone! I know it's all part of the game but I'd be gutted haha...

Still, excited as hell about coming over & maybe seeing them.

Silver Train on the list: Whoa!!! I had given up on hoping that they were going to dust off that old favorite gem and bring it back to us on stage. That is very very exciting. Thank you Mick and Chuck. So No "All down the line" if the "Silver Train" is a rollin'. That news made my day!!
Rock and roll,

Shouldn't they rehearse the old ones too? They didn't play them since 6 months or so. (SFTD, MY, GS, BS, JJF, YCAGWYW, Satisfaction...)
Think they will do that in week two Feb 10 - 14.

Charlie is supporting the fans generously and today he signed for many fans. We the fans are close to him and he do care about us for sure.

If you're that famous for that long, it's probably become hard to notice people wanting you to sign things. It's probably strange when there isn't someone doing that.

Is the warm-up gig usually at the end of the rehearsals?

Just a correction:

The song listed as "Who Do You Love" at the Tuesday Feb 4 rehearsals was in fact the Bo Diddley song "Bo Diddley". Thanks for the info from "one of us" out there who found out about that.

Amazing, what can you make out of a photo. I know, the way his head is tilted, the position of his right hand...a lot of secret signals there... oh, boy...

I have four things signed by Charlie (from 5 ABC&D gigs I attended). Charlie was always very nice and kind, he even wrote Danke (Thank you in German - it was in Austria) at my Beggars Banquet LP. I have nothing but the deepest respect for this man.

Another long day of rehearsals, starting off in a great way with:

- Heartbreaker 2x
- She Was Hot 2x

then

- Sympathy

and finally:

- MEMORY MOTEL

Mich and Keith on vocals, can you ask for more? Back up to Boston, where I last time got this great song last summer... Everybody was ... quiet ... not a song you talk to - you just listen and love it!

- If You Can't Rock Me
- SILVER TRAIN 2x
- Can't You Hear Me Knocking
- Fool To Cry
- Let's Spend The Night Together 2x
- IORR
- Far Away Eeyes
- Love In Vain
- Slipping Away 3x

They sound great, and they look great. No worries. The "14 on Fire" tour will be ... IN FIRE!

PS. They DID NOT play Dance Little Sister, but SILVER TRAIN. Corrected as of today feb-07 at 1pm. BV

And "Dance Little Sister"... Digging deep, great!

The latest set of songs rehearsed is wonderful altogether. For example, they haven't played too much of "Love In Vain" during the modern days. I waited that one back in Hyde Park...

bv, is Sympathy For The Devil different to the one that was played last year?
In 2012/2013 it was a very "empty" version with not so much rhythm instruments and the famous "wo-woooh" was left in some parts of the song...

Thanks BV - it makes you feel as if you are actually there !
Keith is looking very well in the pictures

How was he sounding in slipping away ?
is this the only keith song rehearsed so far ?

Reading these rehearsal set lists makes one a dreamer... I usually don't care a shit what they decide to play - just hoping they do it well whatever they decide to do - but just thinking of "Silver Train" and "Dance Little Sister"... so, instead of playing, say, such songs like "All Down The Line", "Bitch" and "Live With Me" - kind of songs that are not 'war horses' but still rather regularly played numbers in their last tours - they would play either (or both) of these tunes. I think they would serve rather well in representing that type of rockers in their shows. Besides, I could imagine they could also perform them as good as they could do those other mentioned songs, with or without Taylor. Probably they are not so well-known or even good, but still good, solid rockers that I think could work well live.

Just a thought, though... typical fanboy stuff, don't judge me too harshly...winking smiley

Dance little sister requires MT in shape. Put on your headphone and listen to the original.
