Wishing a great time to everyone who will be there. Just hoping that all our "reporters" will inform us every now and then. Enjoy your time guys and dolls.
Freezing cold Paris! I was home for the week-end in Norway, where the weather had changed from snow for weeks into +3 C and rain... But +2 C in Paris feels so awfully unfair and different, don't know why...
Anyway, they are on. The Rolling Stones are back together rehearsing for the "14 on Fire" tour as of today. Charlie started off banging his drums, just to see they are still working. Then Darryl added some great bass riffs. Then we got the guitars. They were on. It was a jam, sort of Let It Bleed jam, but it was great to hear the Rolling Stones once more!
They did many songs, no big surprises, but a few gems, remember I am spoiled. I wish someone else could publish what they did, because I am not sure if I should be the one to open all the Christmas parcels the day before Christmas. Anyway, Doom And Gloom is just getting better and better, they are working on it. And if they take all these songs on to the Fire tour, they will be ON FIRE for sure.
While fighting the cold, it just came to my mind... These guys are all grandfathers. They travel to Paris to spend time on rehearsals, then they are up for a tour of some seven weeks in the Far East and Pacific. Will I be like that when I turn 70? Hard to imagine. So much energy!
All I can say is they sound just as great as before, as they checkeed out of The Park last summer, and "14 on Fire" will be great.
Well I'll start the list then : 1. Jam without Mick who arrived shortly after. 2. Bitch 3. All Down The Line 4. IORR, restart after the first bar 5. Just My Imagination - Break - 6. Live With Me 7. You Got Me Rocking - Break - 8. Paint It Black 9. Respectable 10. Rocks Off 11. Beast of Burden 12. Dead Flowers 13. Shine a Light
Then I had to leave so someone can add the rest ;-)
GRRRrrreat to see the boys again on a cold and sunny day, Charlie and Ronnie seemed half surprised to see us when they arrived, Keith was not visible behind tinted glass and Mick was all smiles and waved at us. Little things but as bv writes, it's pretty mind boggling that these guys in their 70s still bother, makes everyone feel young like when we heard them for the first time I suppose ;-)

The fact that they do "Worried About You", "Shine A Light", "Let It Bleed" and "She's So Cold" among others on the first night of the rehearsals is telling us they do intend to perform not only the biggest hits, but also some songs they do not play every night as well on this tour...
