Favourite Stones video clip

Gotta admit I've never thought as this being their strong suit but my fave would be "Jumping Jack Flash". Weird how their first outing as a video clip was there best in my opinion. Well at least I think it was their first.

"Love is strong" and "Out of tears" I quite like too. The rest are a raffle smoking smiley

You mean the Michael Lindsay-Hogg one? Because that would be my favorite too. Just when I'd been beginning to think they'd lost their way, and possibly weren't going to have much more I was interested in--yowza! A whole new lifecycle! hot smiley

One that immediately comes to mind is Mick & Keith creating Mixed Emotions.

I also like "She Was Hot" (for it's sense of humour), "IORR" and - call me crazy- all the video showing moments of concerts...

IORR is the most iconic one, known by many non stones fans.

My favorite is the SMU video. It's sloppy, almost amateurish, and full of a genuine innocence that was lost with time. Ronnie looking at the camera, Bill's stone cold face and Mick's striped shirt come to mind when I think of it smiling smiley

Sorry yes Aquamarine, I mean the Hogg one.
And I agree Torres re SMU. It's so stupid you'd be hard pressed to think it's being made by the biggest band on Earth at the time. Complete with Mick out of lip synching. Hahaha it's so ugly it's appealing...

Sympathy for the Devil from Rock and Roll Circus - Mick goes wild.

Waiting on a Friend - Keith struttin down the street.

But gotta give it to Jumping Jack Flash - all of them looked amazing.

She's So Cold!

Followed by JJF, Undercover of the Night, and the Fatboy Slim treatment of SFTD.

I'm limiting this to actual 'made for' promo clips, and not live performances.

OT--I found my old copy of this book over Christmas. I'd read it so often back in the day that all the pages had fallen out and it's held together by a rubber band!

This one for me. The result of seeing this, and hearing "Paint It, Black" during the Full Metal Jacket closing credits, I went out and made my first Stones purchase of IORR and Hot Rocks. So because of this video IORR was the first Stones studio album I owned. Although the title track was the only song I ever listened to on it for probably a decade.

Two short nominations.

1) Mick & Brian introducing Howling Wolf on Shindig! Brian is as good as jumping up and down with excitement. (Factoid... Wolf's keyboard player is Billy Preston).

2) Atlantic City '89. Clapton guests on "The Red Rooster" and plays a blinder of a solo. As he walks back to join Keith & Ronnie, Mick walks past him and gives him a smile/nod that shows just how truly great he thought it was. (Absolutely no irony intended there - Mick obviously loved it!)

This is awesome. Seriously.

I was always partial to the "Rock And A Hard Place" video since there were clips from my first-ever Stones show in it, but since that novelty has worn off...

- Neighbors
- Worried About You
- Start Me Up, just for the hilaritaaaay-yaaay-yaaay-yaaay-yaaay
- Saint Of Me was very '90s, but very cool
- and I'll always love "Anybody Seen My Baby" for a snapshot of NYC right around the time I moved here
