Dog Man Star (their second album) is for me a masterpiece. Massively overblown, over-reaching, just plain ambitious, i don´t know. This album helped to soundtrack my 20 year old nights, and (although i don´t play it much these days) i love it.
If you like glam rock, Bowie, or just the sound of young skinny guys, stimulated and inspired by everything they can get, you should check it out.
Here´s one of the greats:

Some brilliant 90s singles, and Bernard Butler, founder member and guitarist on the first two albums, is one of the truly great British guitar players of the last thirty years. And I agree with peoplewitheyes that Dog Man Star is a top album. That one and their eponymous debut are well worth a listen.
