For me, better than the final record. Keith's guitar and Mick's voice, and that's all. It has the groove and the rythmn.
Could the Stones come back to this kind of music? It's not Mozart, but it sounds fine:

Damn fantastic version - Mick's vocals do sound more atmospheric with the slap reverb on it.
The bass player is clearly just trying to figure out what he'll play. I'm not that crazy about the bass on this version, perhaps for that reason. It's Darryl Jones playing on this, innit? (I know, I should just look up the track notes)
The album version's a perfectly fine little groover as well. But yes, somewhat more sterile.

I think the album version is perfect.
In fact, there is nothing I would change about "Voodoo Lounge".

Wow…a big improvement over the released version, I think. Would sit nicely next to "Linda Lu" (one of my all-time favs) on a boot compilation.

Golly, I absolutely love this version Thank you so much for loading it - i wonder if they rehearse it these days ( like charlie says they always rehearse Ventilator Blues even though they never play it live )
