The Rolling Stones are confirming a one-night only show at the Singapore Marina Bay Sands Grand Ballroom on SATURDAY 15 March 2014 as part of their 14 ON FIRE tour. The show was finally confirmed in a press release by the Stones on Feb-13.

Well I guess this thread must be a round about way of confirming the Singapore show, which is by all rumors 15 March at the Marina Bays Sands Grand Ball Room. Strangely though, BV you still have it as unconfirmed on this site, and the 14 ON FIRE ticket page has no listing I am counting on it though, I have made sure I am off work, it fits in perfect with plans, and the Marina Bay Sands is an architectural wonder wort a visit on it's own!

Count on it. Sat Mar 15. But I will not state CONFIRMED until they say so, so far just 95% for sure. Singapore is a great place to see the Stones, and I am looking forward to see them without the SARS nightmare. Last time was great too, but I am still shaking when I think back to those days in 2003 when all hospitals were full, and SARS shut down the Singapore health system more or less.

Any one with any idea what the hold up is here? Prices at the Marina Bay Sands are high and they are requesting full non refundable payment on March 15 and 16 at one site, so I take it that they know what is going on those nights. But I am juggling this with Perth and other shows and hate to shell out airfare hotel for nothing. Everyone that talks to me says "yes," but I wonder why there is the delay.

Oh I can explain that, simple.

We're all awaiting for Singapore to become an interesting and worthwhile place to visit. Unfortunately, this is liable to take a long time yet, hence the delay. Suggest therefore that you check back in about 50 years time, when perhaps it might have become so ............

That is pretty ridiculous pauly, Singapore, while not like the rest of Asia, actually is a pretty great place to visit. I lived there for nine years, and there is a heck of a lot to do. The problem though is that prices have gone up very much, and it isn't cheap.
First, the food. Singaporeans love to eat good food and subsequently there are tons of great eating options through out the country.

Some fantastic sites to see such as the Night Safari, museums, and different parts of the city with ethnic differences. Little India, Chinatown, and Malaysian food courts.

I saw the Stones there twice in 2004 and thought they were two of the best shows I have seen by them. Great sound.

Singapore will be a great destination for the tour... I wish I could go!

I also lived there, many moons ago. it was ridiculous then, and it's quite possibly even more ridiculous now .........

Singapore has the best hotel breakfast buffets in the entire world!

Well I took the chance and booked a room for the 15th and 16th. I figure I have the time off, the Marina Bay Sands is always something I have wanted to see since I watched a documentary of it being built, and the hotel is filling up Better to loose the deposit than being caught short I guess.

I stayed at the Marina Bay Sands when it first opened. Prices were reasonable back then. Of course, everyone was excited about the sky high pool. But, I went on a small run in the Casino in the evening and ended up playing all night. In the morning, I had lost all my early winnings and To this day, I've never even seen the pool.

Maybe you can try another tumbling dice at Macau.
I have never been to Las Vegas, but Venetian Macau will be the largest casino in Asia.

I got small win at casino, attended Noel Gallagher's concert and race in the evening was amazing.
It was perfect day.

Depends on its date, but maybe I will withdraw if switched to Jakarta.

Well Jakarta is out of the running for me...My family will be in Auckland from Indiana, leaving at just the right time to get to the airport that , because of time zones, would land me in Singapore 4.5 hours before the show. BUT moving the show to Jakarta? I would have to leave my family, That USUALLY would be a problem easily forgiven . BUT after the 4 of them have flown 8300 miles at great cost to visit, I am afraid telling them, "sorry can't hang around to say good bye and make sure you get to the airport," for any reason, let alone another Stones show, while maybe forgiven, would seem a bit rude even to to me.

Still, I can hope Singapore pulls it out of the fire at last minute!

I don't see Jakarta listed on the tour page even as a rumor. I doubt they would play there...the last three big shows that were slated for Jakarta were cancelled due to protests from fascist Muslims, and threats of violence. I lived in Jakarta for five years and the people are great, but the city is terrible. Singapore would be a far easier and nicer experience.

I don't see Jakarta on the list either, but on the post linked above, its is being rumored as a possible replacement by BV. As of last night, my best other source is still saying Singapore. But obviously at this point if it is still nto confirmed, there has to be a problem. I'll loose a room deposit, no problem, I am just glad I held off on the airline ticket, which I was gonna break down and lock in 48 hours from now!

I would say Singapore is on until they say something else, but there is a reason why I have mentioned the outsider city, and there is also a reason why it is still not listed as aa rumoured show, very slim chance, still not zero percent... If Singapore isn't on before I leave for Abu Dhabi, I will probably saecure another VISA permit before I leave, just in case.

I saw both shows in Singapore for the Licks tour and the promotor lost money. Big money... I hope it happens though, they did seem to like Singapore. I met Benard and he was enjoying all the local cuisine:-) and loving it.

The Singapore 2003 shows were special, because the city was fighting SARS. There were death and full hospitals and a nightmare health wise, the Stones flew out of Singapore and had to cancel the next shows in Hong Kong. Hopefully this time around will be a nice ande relaxed event without any worries.

No news, I assume? Very disappointing. Singapore would have been a great show, and would have been perfect for a weekend trip.

Damn I will be Singapore on business the week of March 10th and was going to fly back to the U.S. on the 15th.have to book my flights in the next few days so any word yet on the dates here?

Would hate to miss a chance to see the boys again by leaving the day of the show if it happens

Although Sing is not confirmed until it goes live on Stones' tour/ticketing page, I can provide the following info: The best & newest sound system in the world is being flown from Berkeley/SFO California to Marina Bay Sands Resort ahead of the Mar. 15 (rumoured) date. Unless current plans are scrapped, I would assume the show should be announced sometime soon in order that the venue/promoter might have time to sell out the approx. 11k cap. Sands Grand Ballroom. Show date is only 5 weeks out and Sing show would be competing w/Macau, Dubai and possibly any additional so far unannounced Asia Pac dates. Hope this helps w/folks' travel plans.

Good for the Marina Bay Sands to get a new sound system, but don't the Stones usually tour with their own? I don't think a possible Singapore show would be competing with Macau and Dubai because people who travel far and post on pages like iorr are really a minority. And where do you see spaces in the touring schedule for other Asia/Pacific dates to be added? I don't see any.

If there is to be a show, I am guessing that the announcement is next week Monday - everyone is back from holidays. There is no competition from Macau. That show is basically sold out. Singapore has enough wealthy folks to fill that venue, but will they?
