Always something to love Palace...I'd kill for that green belt, it'd look goood on me.

It never ceases to amaze me that we STILL find unseen beautiful pics from 72.

Mick Jagger – ‘Faraway Eyes’
Malibu, California 1976
Mick often sat up late composing and playing with Ronnie Wood when he came to stay in Malibu. I love this picture because he was writing the song ‘Faraway Eyes’, at the time, and it was such a gentle love song. He gave it a Country and Western twist because he loved the Willie Nelson song ‘Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain’. I am not sure whether it was deliberate on my part to ‘soft-focus’ the image, but it suits the mood of the song.

Where were those Black and Blue cover photos taken? In my teens listening to that album I always felt it sounded kind of sultry and tropical, like the ocean in the background.
I am still surprised that it was recorded in Germany!
