In light of today's tragic events, I would imagine this show (and possibly one or two others) may have to be rescheduled.

I'm thinking the entire rest of the tour may be shut down. This is heavy news. I doubt Mick is in any condition to perform and may not be ready for months.

You almost hope that is the case. The man needs to allow himself the time to mourn. Still, this is the Stones, and the show must go on....though under these circumstances you kind of hope it won't at this time.

There's always the fact that he performed the night his father died, or night after.

But yeah, my guess would be the whole tour might be cancelled. This is worse than the example I gave and I can't imagine him recovering quick. I wish him all the best and seriously this is just horrible horrible news.

from skynews australia

"His spokesman says the singer is 'completely shocked and devastated' by the news of his girlfriend's death."

How can the show go on?

I can never get what I want

Dunno, not only is there the "show must go on" motto, but also the British "stiff upper lip" and Mick's stage persona is so different from who he really is...he'll be making the call obviously.

12 noon EST Aussie announcement.
9am Perth time.

Just heard Stones inc will go to Mick in an hour with 'we have a jet ready if you wish to head to NY' if he goes Perth and maybe Adelaide off.

I can't see Mick dancing and smiling and doing the "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah! WHOOO!" in the near future and quite frankly I wouldn't want to. Under these circumstances, what would come to mind if I were to see Mick would be "Very sorry for your loss". How is he going to sing "Miss You" (or other suddenly poignant songs)? There are times when the show doesn't have to go on. A relatively young woman whom we have been (however remotely) acquainted with for 10 years is dead by her own hand. Set list whining will have to wait a while.

Press conference in Perth in just over an hour to announce whether the current Australian tour will proceed, be postponed, or cancelled.

Cheers

of course. Those who compare this to Brian Jones or Jagger's dad's death are being silly. It would be macabre for Mick to perform under these circumstances, which is why the reports of him about to fly to NY are undoubtedly correct.

It must be awful to be an Aussie fan right now. I can imagine feeling torn between being horribly disappointed at maybe not getting to see your favorite band, and feeling bad about feeling that way because of the nature of the tragedy. Both feelings being totally understandable.

Can't help but think this is some sort of cosmic joke but of course it's not about me. They're six minutes literally down the road from my house and it looks as though they'll leave without having played a note.

I feel for Mick and her family but from a purely selfish perspective this is surreal and not in a good way.

Gutted.
