24 years ago, I saw the Stones together with this guy at the Tokyo Dome.

Undoubtedly, that was one of my best stones moment in my life!

If I count five great guitar players, he would definitely be among those five.
We've learned the ethos of rock music and the essence of stoned music from him.

Last August,
sadly, suddenly and surprisingly,
he past away.

I would be very emotional to see the Stones this time as they will bring back memories of him.
My office is still decked with his guitar pick and Charlie's drum stick together.

Memories and memories...
Could I raise his spirit in the dome?

About cherry blossom in Japan:

Kawazu is a small town along the southeastern coast of the Izu Peninsula, a two hour train ride from Tokyo. The town is the birthplace of the Kawazu Cherry, one of the earliest flowering cherry tree varieties. The trees usually start opening their blossoms around early February and are in full bloom around late February and early March.

So may be there will be some great cherry blossom there, even if it will not be the same as in Tokyo may be...

Last weekend the Tokyo region experienced the heaviest snowfall in 47 years and there is another ten or so inches expected this weekend. Fortunately the roads seem to be cleared of snow after a day or two.

Even around the Tokyo Dome, we had a heavy fall of snow today.
Shoveler's Nightmare!
It paralyzed transportation in the city.
Be careful: Decks around the Tokyo Dome are slippery when wet.smiling smiley

Does anyone have a link to purchase this shirt? I know it's still early. This would be the easiest option.

Second option is if anyone who is going. I'll paypal them for the shirt, shipping and something for your time.

Or you can come to Washington DC for the annual National Cherry Blossom Festival, held in late March to early April. The mayor of Tokyo sent 3,000 cherry trees to DC as a gift in 1912. They are planted around the Tidal Basin and are beautiful to see, but they bloom for only a short time. It's a big tourist attraction, but even us locals love to see them. BV is right, go if you can.

Late February and early March may be a bit early for sakuras BV. It varies every year of course...

for people coming from outside of Japan,

It's too early to go cherry blossom viewing in the end of February.
However, the plum-blossom festival will take place here and there while between the middle of February and the middle of March.

For those who read this thread and think what is all the fuss about Cherry Blossoms, I will say that viewing Cherry Blossoms is an experience you will not soon forget. When I first arrived here I could not understand how people could get so excited over a little flower. I had zero interest. But after my second Cherry Blossom season I was hooked. It is now my favorite time in Japan. So if you have never been in Japan during Cherry Blossom, make a point of doing so.

This is an awesome T. Also I like to know where this came from and where it can be bought. I'll have enough time in Tokyo to go hunt for it, but I like some pointers on where to start..

Thanks

Stones are the ones that have perfomed the most in Tokyo Dome - right now 25 times and after this 3 conserts, 28 times. Funny enough, Mick Jagger was the first international act.

Hahaha.
And there is no Shanghai and Singapore on some t-shirts.
I hope it will be corrected but let's see reports from Abu Dhabi tonight.
