But I saw many scalpers just in front of Suidobashi station west entrance gate at Mcartney's show last November.

Ticket will continue to be an issue, it appears. Any sites you have used that you trust?

If I'm reading correctly, the concerts in Japan start at 18:30 ???
I have never been to Japan before. My flight would land at 15:00, at Narita.
Do I have enough time to go thru customs and get to my hotel (is very close to the Dome) and still get to concert in time?
I assume the train is the quickest option.

Anyone ever seen or stayed in a "Capsule" hotel?

You all have been great. Thanks for the advice. At first I was only going to try to see the shows in China, but saw I could get a flight with an 18 hour lay-over in Tokyo and possibly make the show.
Still in the planning stages as of now. I know the train is the best option. Have been warned about traffic, so do not want to take a chance in a taxi...nor am I wealthy !! Great idea to take taxi from Tokyo Station directly to hotel.
I would like to keep my bag checked all the way to Shanghai, so I don't have to go thru baggage claim. Or do I have to retrieve bag? Or will just do carry-on since I wanted to stop at hotel to drop off computer backpack.
Ticket will continue to be an issue, it appears. On-line auctions? What would the delivery be...electronic? Any sites you have used that you trust?

So, in looking at travel plans for this trip, I came across something I had never heard of or seen before.
Anyone ever seen or stayed in a "Capsule" hotel? From the looks of it, you get a storage area for luggage and then sleep in an enclosed bunk. One picture I saw had them stacked up...like 3 or 4 high in a hallway. Interesting concept for someone who only needs a place to sleep, but def not for the claustrophobic.

Yes! The Wink Hostel in Singapore is capsule (but no door). My wife and I stayed in a double for 3 nights, in a room that had about a half-dozen capsules. Very good experience, highly recommended - especially as quality budget accommodation options in Singapore are lousy. Capsules are part of Japanese culture.

So you can just go down to a 7-11 store here and buy a ticket for 150.00 ?

Thanks. What is the chance that there are going to be good seats at reasonable prices a few days before the show ? In the US they dropped prices dramatically on the VIP seats when those seats were not selling. I am just wondering if the same thing is going to happen in Tokyo. How are sales so far ? If I can get a decent seat where I don't have to watch the show on a monitor I might consider going if it is around 20,000 yen.

You are not that broke. Try Toyoko Inn. They are way better and cheap. To sleep in a cocoon is not human I think...

It will be very difficult. You need super luck.
There are tons of Japanese fan who have nosebleed 2nd tier stand ticket. Some of them will pay another 20,000JPY if such good seats sold.
And at first, promoter announced that they sell only 500 GC(Golden Circle) tickets per show.
But it looks like there are 2 or 3 times more. Some of GC buyers complaining about it on a internet message board and maybe some of them called promoter for complains. So it is hard to drop price in such situation.
I already have Tokyo final show tickets, looking for 2nd night tickets at Yahoo Auction site.
GC ticket marketprice is between 80,000JPY-150,000JPY.
As mickeyjaggar saying, GC covers 1st row to 45th.
And there are no bidders for some 45th row tickets even with its face value 80,000JPY but it will never fall down to 20,000JPY I guess.
