Nice cake! My 50th is February 18, I already told my wife if the Stones play that day I will go wherever in the world (seems like Asia) that they play!

Happy birthday and lovely cake!
QUESTION: Did the cake have a tongue mould or was it carved in the shape of the tongue from a slab cake?
I ask because I've been searching for many years for a tongue cake tin mould.
Thanks,
CE

No mold. I simply added two inches to the outer edge of an enlarged tongue image (I created a template from an image online) and cut it out of a sheet cake;
I purchased red, black and white edible paper.
Using the template, I cut out the outline of the entire tongue from the red edible paper
From the template I cut out the separate white and black sections of the tongue image.
I placed these sections on the appropriate color sheets and using an exacto knife,I cut out the pieces.
I then placed the red tongue on the frosted cake, and tHe white and black pieces were stacked in the appropriate places on top of the red base tongue to form the iconic stones tongue.
Eventually the moisture from the frosting seeps into the edible paper adding to the appearance that the edible paper is frosting.
That's it, signed Mrs.Snorton
