Ronnie Wood v.s. Brandon Block

This is always worth revisiting: a slightly sozzled Ronnie Wood facing-up to an even more sloshed guy at the 2000 Brit Awards, after the latter appeared on the stage believing he'd won an award.

The fun begins at around he 02:20 mark :-

Ah, I love those moments at award shows! grinning smiley Who was the would-be awardee?

(I mean, I know his name because it's in the thread title, but who IS he?)

Woodie was a bit too soft on the guy, and appeared a bit timid after the incident.

Keith would have just smashed his glass over the guy's head, the way he bopped that guy on the head with his guitar in '81.

Charlie would have given him a left hook, and sent him sliding into the nearest canal.

The funniest bit is how no one gets Ronnie's "Dirty Work" pun.

Even funnier is that Ronnie doesn't get his Dirty Work pun either--they were working on Dirty Work in 1985, not 1982. He should have said that in 1982 he "was working undercover".

Good one!

True he got the date wrong but it's surprising he even got the decade right, given his state of inebriation!

He's a dance-music DJ, I think. Apparently, he was actually nominated for an award that evening, but not the one he ended up on stage for, obviously! A think it's a case of two very drunk individuals and confusion all round!

Yeah, I thought that as well, even though he was off by a few years.

I just found this tonight, apparently the 2000 BRITs were full of incidents like this one.

The Block bloke is a DJ that was tricked by his friends into thinking he had won the award in spite of not even being nominated.
