Not better than the original, but pretty darn cool of Ellen Foley to tackle it.

Dead Boys, "Tell Me"

Admittedly, not really better than the original, but still, it's a nice try.

that was excellent bart-man...I never thought I'd say I wished Mick and Keith would follow Paul and Gene's lead, but I would for this. It would be nice for them to try this in concert at least once.

The KISS audience didn't seem to have blank stares.

Yeah, that's always been one of Ace's signature KISS tunes since the late 70s. It may be sacrilege, but I like their studio take as much as the original Stones version. This was his first time back with them since the makeup days.

A nice acoustic version from Melissa Etheridge.

Here are a few from Maxayn, from their 1972 album. Never heard of them, a friend just put these up on facebook. Anybody know this group? The covers are kinda cool.

Melanie's RT is awful. She doesn't even sing it to the correct backing chords. Some of the passing chords Richards wrote underneath the melody are what make make much of the song beautiful with all of it's lovely nuances.

I've never heard a cover of the Stones better than the original in my opinion but Franklin's version of JJF and Midler's BOB are ok. Ronstadt's TD was also pretty good from memory.

I love Bowie but his cover of LSTNT is horrid.

Yes I see this clearly now.
I was young when I first heard it and it's been over 20 years since I have. I request a reprieve for my thoughtlessness...

Not better than the original, but here's Muddy giving something back to the boys with his cover on Electric Mud; an album I happen to like, which puts me in the minority I think.

Otis doing Satisfaction is amazing, just as are the following:

1. Jumping Jack Flash (Live from A Song for You) - Leon Russell
2. Jumping Jack Flash (bluegrass version) - Leon Russell w/ New Grass Revival
3. Jumping Jack Flash - Flamin Groovies
4. Before They Make Me Run - Steve Earle w/ Supersuckers
5. Under My Thumb - Social Distortion
6. Let It Bleed - Johnny Winter
7. Jumping Jack Flash - JOhnny Winter And Live
8. I Just Wanna See HIs Face - Black Crowes

While JJF is a TOUGH track to even consider equalling, Leon's and JOhnny's versions of JJF are INCREDIBLE

7 years on, I admit forgetting about Rod Stewart's Street Fighting Man, which is so incredible, though no better than the Stones' version.

Never liked Bette's BoB or Linda's Tumblin' Dice, but loved Charles Watts International's Let It Bleed.

Not really any covers better than the originals I don't think..

Thought Chubby Checker's version of Under My Thumb was pretty good though.
