The baldness gene supposedly comes from the mother. James has Linda's strawberry blonde hair color, too.

No one, probably not even the surviving Beatles themselves, seems to remember that they also played there (with 10,000 of the 55,000 seats empty) on August 23, 1966.

well I knew that even if I don't remember it (a bit young for that).
Hey Steffialicia, how was your Fab experience ? I'm jealous.

Funny you should mention that, because in the Anthology, George says he can't remember playing Shea twice.
Promoter Sid Bernstein blamed the empty seats in 1966 because the also played stadiums in Philadelphia, Washington, and Boston. In 1965, Shea was the only East Coast date, except for Toronto.

I remember August 23, 1966...I was there too and yes, it was a real thrill. Couldn't hear a damn thing. It sounded like a jet plane taking off.

I did not go over to the "dark side" until the 1970s when a very wise friend insisted I see Ladies and Gentlemen, The Rolling Stones. That was all it took.

Regarding of what they could hear onstage: They were using Vox AC-100 amps. I don't know if any of you have stood in front of one, but I have, and let me tell you: they're loud! Really loud. So I think they could hear something onstage. What the audience heard is a different story. Comparing it to what's available today is rather moot. In Atlanta 1965, they did have a primitive monitor system in place.

I don't know about the other musicians here, but I hear that kinda

on August 15, 1995 the Stones played in Leipzig/Germany for the very first time. I was there as around 80.000 other, but was one of few giving high five to Mick when he came down the stage walking some meters along the front row ...

Yes, it is.

But just for the record, it is not me. I am a boy. I found this as a nice example to illustrate what a Schultüte is, which apparently has no equivalent outside the German speaking world.
