Beatles for sale as autograph album up for auction

Shehnaz Khan

The autograph book, which has also been signed by Cliff Richard and the Rolling Stones, will go under the hammer at Richard Winterton Auctioneers at The Lichfield Auction Centre in Staffordshire on 2 February.

From the auctioneer's description: "In addition, there is a complete set of the Rolling Stones’ signatures including Brian Jones, obtained when Elizabeth went to see the band at the Savoy Ballroom in Portsmouth."

My opinion in 2025 is I would have prefered that the Threatles did not issue the post beatles recording.
John shot in 1980, end of The Beatles!

Your choice to not listen to any of them.

Can you exlain the meaning of your post as I don't get it ?

Actually, the Threatles were making music in the 60s. Many of George's songs John is not on. Particularly, the sessions for Get Back in 1970, after Lennon left The Beatles the Threatles finished up For You Blue and I Mean Mine. Just Harrison, Macca, and Ringo in the studio completing the last official Beatles tracks for Let it Be.

OT: The Rooftop Concert

Jan. 30 is/was the 57th anniversary of The Rooftop Concert. And some people who never saw the band say that they were lousy live. As ragged as it is I find it nothing short of compelling. What would London have subsequently paid to have the band do lunch hours on Thursdays? It's a shame they never toured again. They did not need each other anymore in the studio, but live on stage is a different matter.

That is an electrifying performance. It's really too bad they had to split, but seriously who could blame them. After Beatlemania I think an average person would hide under a bed the rest of their life.

I think they would have performed again in the 80s and 90s if John had not been murdered

I think it a shame that the intended 'Get Back' album was scrapped. Listening to the Glyn Johns mix from the Let It Be Deluxe, it's really evident that the live-feel captured the Beatles at their finest. Let It Be is fine, but their discography would be that little bit stronger if the Glyn Johns mix had of been released sometime in early 1969.
