When I was very young I actually thought it was "Hey jew". In all well meaning... My English was on a developing basis though..

I wonder what John thought about the lyrics? He is quoted as rating the song very highly. But it must have been mixed emotions knowing it was his songwriting partner writing about his (John's) own son.
