Time for the Revolution. Cool video. Wish the Stones were doing a project something like this.

Yep, that makes the video not OT (or semi-OT, at least), but I didn't want to start a new thread just to post it when we already have this one. smiling smiley

Anyone ever by that MONO vinyl box set? I was tempted to but $400 is a bit steep. I thought it would take a big price dip as they all usually do. I bought the Stereo Box for around $200, and both Stones vinyl boxes from 2010 for under $200.

The lowest price I've seen it for on amazon.ca is $289, which in retrospect was pretty good.

Ah well, we'll see what Black Friday and Boxing Day bring this year.

Yes, I got the recent vinyl mono box set. It is stellar! Fantastic packaging, the sound is so full and fat, and a great book. Worth it!

Well I know everyone didn't have a great experience with the Stereo box but I have that and it's also stellar.

I also have the mono in the CD box...just gorgeous. I've read the vinyl version is even better. I will get it one day but I refuse to pay $400!

I bought the mono cd box upon release, and treat it like it's a holy grail.
Would love to have the vinyl, but as mentioned a bit out of my price range.

Can it be so that the ' fat ' sound is due to the band's quality and not the box and its maker? cool smiley

A few weeks ago I took a long walk down memory lane and listened to the entire Beatles catalog in order of release. I noticed a lot of things I'd never noticed before, such as spliced endings.

I started off with the Tony Sheridan songs, many of which I had never heard before. Those were some great, fun tunes - especially liked Skinnie Minny. Highly recommend a good listen if you've never heard them before.

Sometime soon, I plan to do the same with the Stones catalogue, but I've been suffering from "Stones Fatigue" pretty much ever since the tour ended. Hope it ends soon.

Anybody here ever listened to the whole catalogue all the way thru?

Every once in a year, yes....It is the today shape that gives the song-scores for my part..The weakest album ever released with the Beatles must be da album called 'Let it be Naked'...I hear no point at all with it.

Yes, well at least the 60s on the new(er) vinyl box, just in the last year.

The last time I'll admit to Stones fatigue was in the 90s, I think after the release of Bridges. Saint of Me was great and I did see them twice in LA and Vancouver (98) but after that wasn't as 'in' to the band until probably ABB.

Come to think of it, that's a pretty long time. I did grab all the SACDs when the first appeared mind you.

Of the Beatles? Yes. It is pretty mind blowing to hear the relentless evolution and experimentation over such a short period of time. I recommend it.

For the stones I usually run out of steam at TSMR and then again with GHS

restored video, which is part of a new deluxe edition of their 1 compilation of chart-topping songs from the U.S. and U.K. The set has been expanded with a series of long-lost promotional films, which the Beatles called “mini movies.”

Mick Jagger and Keith Richards – dropped by to see how things were progressing during the “A Day in the Life” shoot.
Marianne Faithfull also in video...

Isn't that Anita Pallenberg too, at more or less 0.27?

Yikes - this is the third separate thread where stuff is posted about this Beatles video.

Is this some kind of record?

(Nope - it's a video)

And in the interest of historical accuracy, whoever wrote the line "Mick Jagger and Keith Richards – dropped by to see how things were progressing during the “A Day in the Life” shoot." has absolutely no idea at all about what was going on that day.

No-one "dropped by to see how things were progressing" - the Fabs wanted a party atmosphere for the take(s) of A Day In The Life, and invited suitable people who could together create a really great vibe.

Perhaps BV could merge these threads.

I first saw this on a Beatles bootleg video vhs tape in the 90's. Nowhere near the quality of the new Beatles set.

Great stuff.

Come on, Stones... Copy the Beatles already again. We will buy a nice dvd collection of Rolling Stones music videos and you will make more money.

Trippy!

What is the matter with people. This is the FOURTH thread about this Beatles event.

For Clapton's sake, please check if something is already posted.

BV - any chance of merging these threads.

(And in case anyone thinks I'm anti-Beatles.... how wrong could you be. I manage to stand astride the two universes.
