Has anyone got an update on this?

Julian & Sean Lennon
James McCartney
Zack Starr
Dhani Harrison

All of them is producing music except for maybe Julian nowadays....

Julian actually recently put together quiet a nice boxed set of his stuff. Very nice.

Zack Starkey is an excellent drummer, Julian did some inoffensive radio friendly pop back in the day . James McCartney and Sean Lennon are cringe-worthy. Never heard anything Dhani has done outside of some acoustic guitar at the GH Tribute. Lets hope no one will, even in jest, resurrect the bizarre odious notion that assembling these fellows into a band is a feasible or sane proposition. Aint gonna happen, thank goodness.

Julian was very good back in the day, imo.

Yes, yes I know all that. What about their world tour?

Sean's latest band Ghost Of A Sabre Toothed Tiger is decent psychedelia IMHO. Not a band album at all.

Which tour? Have you been talking to Jumpin' Jack O'Lantern/Sir Craven/Black Hat/SuperRevvy (... feel free to fill in more monikers)? He might tell you more, as he is the only one (including the sons) who knows about this, apparently smiling smiley

That's exactly what I was referring to. But I also know that those names you mention are not all connected.

I saw Zak performing with his band, Penguins Rising, about 10 days ago, in a tiny club in Wardour Street, Soho. There was only about 60 or so people there. The band took to the stage around midnight with Zak on guitar. A great sound with a pop/punk/rock vibe. They are playing a couple more gigs around town over the coming weeks until duty calls with his 'other' band! I would never dream of raising the subject of a sons of Beatles gig with him......too ridiculous.

But keep in mind that the box begins with 1968, which means the Wonderwall album, and there are at least 38 tracks worth of alternate and unreleased versions of tracks from that album.

Aren't there only 3 bonus/extra tracks for Wonderwall?

Yeah, I wish mr O'Lantern could come back and tell us more about this. I even heard something about a combined tour with The Sons of The Beatles and The Sons of The Stones. What happened with that?

How sad this 'Sons of The Beatles' thread has been merged with the general Beatles thread.

It just had so much merit all on its own.

But it shows how the sons of Beatles have matured--they're seen as general Beatles now.

so true. in fact, they're all older now than when the actual Beatles broke up.

Not only that, but Sean is now as old as his father lived to be--and Julian has outlived his father by 12 years now. The times they are estrangin'

Strange that the recent Macca thread about his show in NYC was neither OT or merged into this thread. Maybe Bjornulf thinks Sir Paul has done enough since 1970 that he isn't a Beatle anymore. peace

Those dreaded Beatles. Enough to instill fear into even the most hardened Stones fan.

Certainly two too many.

I personally only feel nostalgia for the subject. I certainly didn't originate it!
