Does one musician being in a studio with another musician automatically make it a recording session? I'm pretty sure one can just pop in and say hi without it turning into a new album.

State Of Emergency follow-up to yesterday's tweet:

Dub mixing is a Dance. It's a performance. That's why it's best done in front of an audience. Big up Lee "Scratch"Perry, Keith Richards, Stevie Jordan, Pierre De Beauport, Roy and all the crew.
It was a bit of a performance. Bal'ead Mix. SOS! Save Our Souls! Prisoners of Dub!

I'm right here, Mary.

If you open your mind for it, you'll find that there might be humour involved as well here... smiling smiley

PS: I bet Mick has suggested that Keith keeps his chops for the next leg winking smiley

Well, this applies to you, too - this openness of one's mind thing - but you never see the humor when Richards is the subject of it

as for KR solo I'm glad if it will really happen, it gives hope that one day there will be Mick solo gigs and may be some new music too.
(Keithless) Jagger performance is a breath of fresh air

Again, open up, Mary!

NO ONE here knows if Keith is working on a solo album. Most likely, he's not (as they have booked themselves into plenty other work - you know that, so why post the things you do?).

No, it doesn't apply to me, because your posts about Keith is almost without exceptions clinically free of any attemps of humour (or self irony).

The day they are, however, I will be the first to laugh with you. That's a promise smiling smiley

oho ho, you're incorrigible.
by the way I speak not only about my own posts - your reaction is always the same. As far as my humor - when you drop your aggressiveness and narrow-mindedness you can see it, like many others here
cheer up and life will be better, I promise

Why the animus here? DP is one of our best posters. Please...

Absolutely true. I laugh with every word you post, and for that, I thank you.

The photo of Keith and Spooner Oldham, yes.

Any recent recording sessions, no.

Keith is probably just guesting on the supposed recent recording sessions.

So, it is Richards'solo album after all

ok, I would have preferred a new Stones album - but what to do? KR apparently no longer able or willing to write songs for Mick to sing - even One More Shot many said would have been better if he sang it himself. Thereby a solo album is quite natural solution of this situation

Keith's been working with Steve Jordan on and off for the last couple of years.

That doesn't necessarily preclude the possibility of any future recording with the Stones.

Yes, I remember, they worked together after publication of KR' book when Jagger and Richards didn't talk to each other - 2011?

That doesn't necessarily preclude the possibility of any future recording with the Stones.

Absolutely but at this stage, shortly after the end of the successful tour, I would have preferred the Stones album - this is my personal liking
As for future work with Stones - I can not expect much from a songwriter who wrote five songs for last 15 years (Gazza gave the exact number in another thread, I do not remember exactly). And suddenly a burst of creative activity? not one album but two?
But anything is possible in Stonesland

2011. Keith told Jimmy Fallon that an album was "starting to blossom".

Suspect that 'Prisoner Of Loneliness' is a cover of the Willi Williams song. - [youtu.be]

by the way - if for some reason there are no longer the Stones albums in the future then it's perfectly ok for Mick and Keith to release their solo albums. But if there is the Stones album in the near future isn't it a bit odd to release a solo album first? Why to rush?

Yes and I doubt that Keith will release an album while Stones work is still any sort of possibility, which it is. He's just working on while the future unfolds.

I don't care any more at this point, I'd go for a new Richards solo album, but let's go with more Talk Is Cheap than Main Offender.
