Talk is cheap has better classic Keith riffs and Main Offender has better opening signature riffs, but i think this album is more appealing and it has 15 tracks
Its like choosing a baby i love all three and nothing really moves me more than these three albums together. Locked away, You Don't Move Me, take some beating.
Crosseyed Heart does not try to beat them its just an extension, like a maturing of sounds.
Question is do you want another stones album and hits tour or would you prefer another keith solo album and solo tour. I know what i would prefer

I would another Stones album without Don Was and Mick's solo demos.

I got a feeling Don Was is here to stay unfortunately, the glimmers like yes men

Beggers the question stones with Don Was or solo Keith ?

CROSSEYED HEART just gets better each time I listen to it.

It's now not strange to me: Keith's albums are warm and welcoming, Mick's are glaring and a bit cringe shuddering.

Suspicious - "No matter what you do, I'm still a part of you. You'll never be free of me".

You tell her Keith dammit!!! lol

He is talking to mick. They can't break up because of the stones.

Haha that's BS (but possible I suppose) - I remember someone bringing up that scenario in this thread, and I think it was you (?) that said NO!

Anyways, I'd prefer to hear it the way I interpret it...that's one of the things great songs do, they allow various interpretations apart from what the writer may have intended.
And in this case, I doubt he's referring to Mick in the same way as 'You Don't Move Me' might have (but again, maybe he is?).
I've also interpreted that tune in my own various ways throughout the years in regards to ex-girlfriends, former friends, etc. I try not to think about Mick very much...

Nice to see an official vinyl chart back again in Germany and Keith running as 4th best seller.
vinyl sales have increased by 25% since last year and seem to make quite a comeback.

Iron Maiden - "The Book Of Souls".
David Gilmour - "Rattle That Lock"
    Slayer - "Repentless"
    Keith Richards - "Crosseyed Heart"
    Motörhead - "Bad Magic"

I saw the vinyl issue of the record at a used book/record store the other day.

$38 US. That seems a bit high, dunnit?

It's incredible that Keith came out with this stuff in 2015. If someone told me he would release an album with 8 ballads that would be of this quality a few years ago, I would have laughed loudly.

SUPERB ALBUM

Haha yeah...I would have laughed loudly also.

Even just prior to the title track being released I still had doubts.
Ho-hum...what can Keith give us at this point is what I was thinking.
Based on his recorded output with the Stones and other collaborations over the past "recent" years, it wasn't really something I was looking forward to with great anticipation.
Just something I would buy because that's something I do when most anything Stones related happens.

I remember some reggae discussion awhile back, and I openly stated that Keith's version of Lovers Plea would probably be lackluster and not sincere/authentic.
I have since eaten those words and have been proven 100% wrong - the song is just about as pure Roots Reggae as possible.

I think the one-song-released-at-time strategy hooked me in as I liked everything I heard, and then when I got the full album I was completely baffled with delight(and still am).

As you said - SUPERB ALBUM

thumbs up

C'mon, it's a double album and it's hard work for Keith to make 'em.

But UMG is the label it's under! They can more than afford to make it cheaper!

First, I really liked and still like Talk is cheap, fairly liked Main Offender (but not as much as TIC) but...so far, I can't get into this new one at all, a couple of nice rhythms here and there but nothing extraordinary - relative to other Stones/solo output.
First time I played it I fell asleep, the second time I got bored after 8 tracks and took it off............I'll give it One more shot..........winking smiley

Yeah.... all are under UMG.

What's the goddamn point of having so many "subsidiary" labels when UMG is overseeing everything? It's gotten stupid. Back in the day (1960s and 70s for sure) Atlantic Records was what is considered an indie label!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let that one sink in a bit!

Of course, now it's under WMG...

Didn't TIC shift a mill?

Telling everyone about CH, it totally deserves a bigger audience

A very different era back in 1988:

- It was his first solo album
- He was 44 years old back then
- Album sales were 7-10 times better than now
- TIC had 3 singles with heavy airplay on rock radio, the last one charting on February-March 1989, 5-6 months of full promo with a tour, 2 videos and 3 singles.
- CH had no tour, only one single and the promo was over after the first week, only magazzine interviews that no one cares.

Funny. Is that an acetate being "cut"? Otherwise that is one heck of a turntable!

Yes, here's another one. If I would have to describe the song in one word (why? never mind why), it would be "charming", or - in two words - "utterly charming".
