If I'd heard only the three officially released tracks, I might be a little underwhelmed too.

Am I the only one quietly waiting for the official release date?
I haven't even listened to the officially released internet tracks.
Is there a vinyl single already?

I've been trying to stay away from this "Treasure Hunt" conversation but I cannot lay out any longer...

Its rather sad and a total indictment of the promotion when deadlines are missed and plaques stand lonely for hours only to be "discovered" by an insider. (nothing against Matt personally here)

I think its a case of a good marketing idea on paper but a poorly executed one in real life.

Its rather flabbergasting that Rolling Stones-money cant buy better promotions.

Now, On With The Show!

I personally adore this track, Substantial Damage, it is definitively my cup of tea
er coffee i dont like tea
so many layers and details I love
dont care at all if it lacks structure
casino boogie lacks structure
bring on more of that

actually I wish it would last more and more
funky stuff

Some very unfinished sounding Stones-outtakes in hindsight sound very finished compared to the three finished tracks Keith offered in advance.

These three songs are not the best promo for the album, imo. One might think the rest is alike. I wonder how many pre-orders have been already canceled.

Keith seems to invent some sort of "free rock n roll", melody isn´t important, structure isn´t important, lyrics are not important. One more song like Substantial Damage and I turn to Goddess In The Doorway, this crap at least is melodious.

Seriously I don´t know what to think of Keith´s latest efforts so far.

... from the app designers, responding very promptly to my email to them:

"Hi,
Thanks for your mail, and for letting us know of your/others frustration.
I've forwarded your comments on to the team running the campaign for a proper response.
Meanwhile hopefully it's reassuring to let you know that, to our knowledge,
the rest of the plaques should be revealed as planned!"

And a follow-up:

"Just got the following back from the team:
‘Due to an unforeseen illness to a member of the Cross Eyed Heart Plaque campaign team,
the second plaque location was revealed later than planned.
The next and final two plaque locations will be revealed, as planned, on Monday 31st of August and Monday 7th September.
Apologies to the fans left waiting, we’re glad you’re all enjoying the campaign!’

Matt Lee, my correspondent also said he enjoyed your thrilling report very much indeed.

the company should hire with sssoul and mattlee to be in charge of this campaign

there could have been clues and riddles for the upcoming locations to keep followers tethered to the promotion!

I really like Trouble but these last 2 tracks are confusing me a little

I want Talk is Cheap. This feels like any second he is going to shout out I LIKE THE WAY YOU MOVE by Body Rockers confused smiley

I don't see how you can put Substantial Damage in the same pot with Amnesia. Amnesia is clearly superior. But at the end, it's all personal opinions grinning smiley

Then as I actually left the office, google said it would only take 32 minutes. I was tempted. I checked again and the world was still waiting. I thought bugger it, I never shy away from a Stones related adventure so I jumped in the car. In my mind I was still going to be beaten but worst case I was likely to end up meeting someone who shares the same passion. What was the downside.

Great! That's the spirit, Matt, and thank you again for taking your time to unlock this new track for everybody. smileys with beer

I'm thinking of all the incredible Stones catalogue to chose from, most people have voiced that Let It Loose is their favourite all time Stones track
Not Sway, CYHMK, GS, Wild horses, Angie, JJF, but Let It Loose
I mean i can't be right and they are all wrong, they genuinely love it and are moved by it spirit and soul
Its just every body's different tastes
I said it before, i am learning more about people on iorr than anywhere else
I have come to the conclusion that it can't be all of you lovely people with a screw loose, so it must be me

To each is own, but I'm loving the 3 new songs. It's been a very long time since I've been this excited about something new. To be brutally honest I was skeptical it could be this good. Very happy to be proved wrong.

Well Koen, i don't mean i want exactly TIC. I want similar type of music
Like how Rap is not the same as Rock
Like how The Who are kind of similar to the Stones in that they have Guitars in them
Like how Goats head soup, Sticky fingers and Exile are similar
Get my drift

Thanks for link. Some choice quotes from his interview:

"Mr. Richards hopes to reconvene the X-Pensive Winos for at least a handful of shows before the Rolling Stones go back on the road. He’s also impatient for the Stones to make another album. “My favorite dream is to get the Rolling Stones off of a tour and straight into the studio,” he said. “It’ll probably never happen, but I can hear the band that tight, when it’s really honed and toned and all the screws are in the right place. A lot of the earlier records we made were in between tours. We’d come straight off the road and go straight into the studio, which is why some of those records have so much bounce and hit on them — the energy.”"

He's been saying the same thing for decades, not holding my breath for this one. Maybe there is a sense of urgency now that they are are so old and future tours are unlikely, but as Keith has said many times about this issue, it's all up to Mick.

As a % of their total fanbase! the # of people who list "Let it Loose" as their favorite Stones song is tiny. There just happen to be a few of us on this thread and we are vocal beyond our numbers!

So, you are not alone, riffhards!

Damn

(I can't help it) ???
Substantial damage, baby
You're breaking my heart

Get that ... ???

What's that thing attached to your ear?
I'm talking to you but you don't seem to hear
I'm paying for dinner and I might as well not be here

Substantial damage, babe
You're killing me
Substantial damage

What are we doing together?
You got the plume and I got a feather
???

Substantial damage, baby

????
It's just a way back in ???
I have no idea
Good golly, Molly!
I don't know why I love you
I don't know what I'm doing
I must be a masochist or something
I bring out the sadist in you
Whip it up now ???
Mon plaisir - that's your actual French, honey!
I'm outta here

Any more contributions to deciphering the lyrics to this wild thing?

sssoul - could these be possibilities?

Get that Black Friday every day.

I know you don't mean it, honey
It's just the way you're built

Gonna whip it up now

And it sounds like it might be "thank you kindly, Molly"??

All kudos and thanks to our own intrepid mattleeuk for unlocking the song for all and sundry. Bravo, Matt!

Though this is my least favourite song on the album. It just sounds like a jam that got stuck before it went anywhere.
