I am so sad to get the news about Steven Jump passing away on Saturday September 14. Steven was a true friend and a superfan. Not only a Bruce Springsteen Superfan, but also a Rolling Stones superfan. I met him many times on tour over the years, and it was a mystery to me how he could have the energy to follow both Bruce and The Stones on tour. We enjoyed the Stones at The Olympia, and at many other club shows and larger venues. Also because his record store Badlands was located in Cheltenham, it was very special. He was so happy about going to the Hyde Park shows with the Stones this summer - he said it was one of the best days out he ever had.

One of the nicest guys I ever met,,Loved visiting Badlands...and he sold me my first "bootleg' CD's which I still have...Happy memories of many chats..in person and over the phone...Rest in peace mate..

Yep, generous bloke, when I enquired about a DVD of Knebworth many years ago he said he couldn't find that but instead sent me a silver disc CD of "The best of Knebworth" free of charge.........

Steven Jump was a legend in Springsteen fan/collecting circles, but I never knew that he'd been such a huge Stones nut too.

Really sorry to hear of this, bv. One of my oldest and best friends died this morning as well. He was a big Stones fan and we saw them together a couple of times. He was only 48. Life is precious. RIP to Steven Jump and my friend Dave.

I'm deeply saddened by this: Steve Jump was a great guy, and I loved mail-ordering music from Badlands. There used to be a great triumvirate of chaps working for Badlands; namely, Steve, Phil, and a guy called Alex.

Steven even managed to locate for me a 2cd special edition of The Harder They Come, which was only released in the USA. Likewise, a ltd edition Travelling Wilbury deluxe set was located for me via Steven, plus some great tickets for Bob Dylan at Docklands Arena in 2002, and Wembley Arena in 2007.

He always used to say that every, yes every, Rolling Stones album had something of merit on it, and on IORR we should agree with him.

Steve was a legend. Wish there were more like him around. RIP Steve.

I remember meeting him at the Stones day in Brixton in '98... he arrived with a suitcase full of boots and gems too. Also saw him at the Astoria gig, where he assured me that the guy from Crystal cat was there to capture evening!

A true ambassador of quality music!

Met him lots of times and he did me many a good turn down the years. (I dont think I'd have got my tickets for Shepherds Bush in 99 had it not been for a tip off from him for starters at the Sheffield gig a couple of nights earlier!) Top bloke and a very funny guy to boot. He'll be greatly missed.

Steve bailed me out when I was skint by giving me a very generous price for some Stones boots I needed to off load a bit sharpish.
Boy could that guy consume Red Wine & Marlboro Red's.
A larger than life character that's for sure. All round good guy. Gonna be missed.

Of course Steven was right; he found something good, something admirable on Dirty Work.

He also sold me, at a reasonable price, the wonderful red and black Atlantic R 'N' B boxed set 1949 -1974, which was unavailable in Britain at the time. Likewise, I can remember him getting hold of Beg, Scream, & Shout for me. He spoke to me about the track-listing, saying what was good, what was bad, and we had a great chat about Bob and Earl's Harlem Shuffle and the Stones' cover.

I'd say that if you mentioned Vivaldi to Steve, he'd have a cogent opinion about his music. I can also remember him getting me a ticket for Bob Dylan in 2007, and he asked me how was the gig; I retorted "Full of bluesy shuffles: good version of Hattie Carroll though". He then said "Why do you think I've stopped going to Dylan gigs ? Too many of them bluesy shuffles".

Sad news.
