OT: Springsteen's Devils & Dust

I just bought the cd. It really sounds very nice to me. A mix of acoustic tales and a few up end midtempo songs without Steve Jordan on drums.
It's got a little country flavour in it wich it makes really nice to listen when youy're on the road...

Andyone else who can share my opinion?

Haven't heard it yet.
But I read that the album is lacking melodies.

Is it already out? I couldn't get it yesterday. I'll try again next week.

All this talk about how great Springsteen is - I know some of you might hate to hear, but I always thought he's rather boring - what would you recommend to listen to to change my mind? I guess there's a Best Of album to get started. Maybe I should get it.

I read a review of the new album, something along the lines of "...this is indeed one for the working man".
Every new album of his seems to have the exact same review.

I get the feeling this is another waste of time release from Springsteen, not much he has done since the early 80's is worthwhile, even though some stuff is brilliant.

so you've reviewed an album that you havent heard? what nonsense.

Just bought it this morning. Its a @#$%& masterpiece.

Got it Friday but haven't listened yet. It comes as a ltd ed combo with a DVD (and only cost me £9). Bruce seems to split people here but he has written some great songs and its nice to clear the palette between listening to Stones all the time.

2 Stones notes: There is a crack down on ebay sales of Albert Hall tickets, please Stones do the same to stop rip off touts.

When the new Stones disc is released lets have a DVD with the album in 5.1 and videos etc (if only to make up for the fan club DVD).

I would love to get "waste of time releases" from the Stones.

"The rewards are often slender here, when they come at all". - David Fricke, Rolling Stones magazine.

This speaks volumes to me. Slender rewards from Springsteen? If any at all? No thanks, I'll save my hard-earned working man's money and wait patiently for the next Stones album, even though there's the high risk of it also being a major clunker. Any new Stones release will always be better than a new Springsteen release, even if it sounds like shit.

David Frickes opinion is the same as Gazzas, its an opinion.

If you love Springsteen you're going to love it, if you like Springsteen you'll like, or grow to like it, if you hate him etc.

This is not completely OT! Steve Jordan plays drums on some songs!

Never liked Springsteen but I agree with what someone said above and would love to hear the Stones to this sort of project.

I wish the Stones where that creative....

At least Springsteen is not trying to be hip...
