What do you think Rolling Stones will be getting?

I would bet they go over the $400 mark.

It was $350 last time, and at the rate of inflation, $400 seems the next milestone. Still, the Stones can charge whatever they want, they dominate over everybody when it comes to live performances. Whether it's U2, Macca, "The Boss"...or whoever, the Stones are always the best ticket in town.

I kinda doubt I would be

days are over and I'll wait for the bootlegs.
Unless it's a surprise club date here in Toronto
or another large outdoors festival like Sarsstock.

Well I love the Stones but
that's just too much -it's obscene.

I doubt we will see ticketprices in that range, unless they specifically announce it as "The Last Time". No wonder that concertgoing among people is in a downward spiral. They go about the problem in the wrong way, letting fewer people pay more, instead of lowering the prices a bit to fill the venues.
If ticketprices will be that high in the US, I seriously think a lot of americans see it as a bargain coming over to Europe, where prices is lower, in general. I think we saw that pattern during the LICKs tour, and also due to the fact that the european tickets where released in the middle of the night here in Europe. Personally, I have never seen the Stones in the States, so I will make the trip this time, no matter what. It´s just something I need to experience.

I am very concerned about the price of tickets.
Seeing what Macca is asking is bad omen for me, but I hope I'll make it to the US this time too.
I think it will be the last tour, and on a stricly financial basis, I hope it will be the last.
Musically and one stage, they'd better stop still being in top form and leaving great memories than making the tour too much.

The Stones are not our everyday life, and I think we shall not sacrifice our family life because of tickets that are way too expensive.

I'd say the top ticket price will be $450.00. They would have to guarantee this fan a setlist of songs never or rarely played live. I won't shell out $300-450 to hear the same basic setlist as the other tours over the past 14 years. Additionally, the show should be extended to a 3 hour performance.

Well, having in mind that the Licks tickets in Madrid were 42€, I suppose that the next tour they will be about 60€. I really don't think they will charge much more than these 60€ for a stadium show here in Spain, or the promotors should asume the risk of having a half empty stadium. But in the end, who knows??

I have no idea of how much it is going to cost in Europe.

As I said before, what they chrged last time (avarage FOS 70 euros) is the market value of tickets for the big ones now.
This time I believe that it will be slighly higher, but not too much.

US and European prices are not comparable, because here the best places (FOS) are all general admission, and nobody is willing to spend 400 euros for a seat in the back of the arena.

It is very reasonable

They'll be ahead of the curve for sure. Always have been. LAst time it was $300 for the close stuff followed by $150 (arenas) $90 for the very good and good here in the States. I would anticipate about a 15-20% bump from that.

Ticket price in Northern Europe will around 55-70 Euro, that's basically standard here for all groups - U2, Macca, Stones etc....

They will take what people are willing to pay, simple as that.

USA: 100-400 dollars
North/Central Europe: 100-130 Euro
UK: 100-200 pounds
South/East Europe: 40-50 Euro
South America: Cheaper

PS. If they don't take your money, the scalpers will.

I would bet at least some close seats are in the $500 range or more. The good news is this may allow for a few more cheap nosebleed seats and still make their guarantee though I wouldnt count on it. Keep in mind the Stones expect to be paid about 2.5-3 million every show and thats a figure thats been going up with every tour.

I predict they will have a "Golden Circle"...the first 10 rows in front of the stage that will be priced near the $500 range. Unfortunately, these seats will be filled with Hollywood stars and rich lawyers, not many of which what I would call true Stones fans. I remember seeing David Spade (a horribly lame American "comedian/actor") at Staples Center in the front row, sitting the whole time talking with his friend. He looked bored. If it were the old days, he would have had his ass kicked and thrown out of there for being a poser and taking up precious space.

As for me, I'm willing to pay top price for a face value Stones ticket here in the States, no matter how unreasonable it is. But at the price, the number of shows I'm willing to see will be narrowed down to one or two. I'll save my money and head back to Europe, specifically the Netherlands. The shows there during the last tour were superior to most that I saw the entire tour. Being of Dutch ancestry, my family roots are calling me once again. Not to mention my Scottish side of the family...Glasgow here I come again!!!!

Even though the tour opens on my 40th birthday,I won't be going to the USA this time .We would need top seats if making the trip and it's just getting rediculous !

I'll try to do plenty of UK / European shows. More time to save as well.

I paid $90 for Chicago (via the fan-club) and $90 for Toronto and I was indeed in the 7th row for the former and the 6th row for the latter albeit TO THE EXTREME end of Ronnie's side in both cases. I'm pretty sure the folks in the middle coughed up the big bucks.

2002.....prices ranged from $50 (crap seats) to $75 (lower 2nd and upper 1st balconies), $110 for lower first balcony, $180 for floor..up to the remote stage and $300+ for floor up to the main stage. Macca's prices last time were a little higher $500 for floor seats at the Gund Arena in Cleveland. It doesn't l look to be getting much better.

As far as my source at the arena....the prices are firm and they'll be announcing the Nov date in a few weeks.

I paid $350 (face value) for a single 6th row center ticket at Staples Center Oct. 31st 2002, directly in front of Keith. I walked up to the box office the day of the show just as they were releasing the last of the last tickets. Probably some V.I.P.'s cancelled out and the tickets became available, but I was the luckiest person on earth that day. Amazing show, the first show I saw of the 40 Licks tour.

Staples 10/31/02 was my first show that tour too. I went ticketless and had a very specific idea about where I wanted to sit. The box office didnt have anything acceptable at the moment. I walked around a bit and talked to people. I was on my way back to the box office when security escorted me off the property and told me I would be arrested for trespassing if I returned. The trained monkey was clever enough to show he meant business by radioing in my description in my presense. Off the property I bought a ticket *exactly* where I wanted to sit from a scalper who I recognized from almost every show I had ever been to so it was less of a risk to buy from him. It was in the Premier (VIP) section a third of the way back at PA level. $200 for a $165 ticket two rows away from the $350. But it was the day after my birthday and I was loaded.

There was someone sitting right next to me in the 6th row who also didn't have any luck with the box office that day. So he went to a ticket broker and paid $650 for his 6th row seat. When I told him how lucky I had been walking right up to get my ticket at face value from the box office , I could see the color dissappear from his face. He looked like he was going to vomit. I'm not sure if he enjoyed the show very much from that point on knowing that he paid nearly double what I had paid. As I said, I felt like the luckiest person on earth that day.

JEEZUS. Day of show is when you tell the broker what you are paying, not ask what they are selling for! They usually give leftover stock to scalpers with instructions to get what they can! Then again, anymore I tend to pay whatever I want to for concerts, not what the band wants to charge me. I guess the Stones will test that theory this year. After seeing them for free at Staples Center and a $325 Phoenix ticket for $75 has kinda spoiled me.

I paid $1,000 face value for a ticket to the Hard Rock Cafe Joint show in Las Vegas. I couldn't believe I was willing to pay that much, but it was my first chance at seeing the Stones in such a small venue. While the show itself was mediocre compared to other club/theater shows of the tour, I have to admit I was quite happy with the experience. But when I later paid 50-60 euro face value for Vredenburg (I forget exactly, but fairly cheap), it made me realize what a rip-off the Joint show really was. I can hardly even consider the Vegas show a legitimate theater show anymore, the set-list was stale with no surprises. This chaos and confusion was all balanced out by a free ticket given to me by a very kind-hearted soul to the second staples benefit show. We ended up 1st row B-stage...for free!!! And we got to see Bill Clinton warn us all about Global warming, what a great warm-up act that was.

Sure the Joint counts as a legitimite theatre show if its in a theatre! I dont remember any setlist guarantees with the tickets. Basically they weren't considering that the people who spent $1000 on tickets werent so much die hard fans so hard core they would sell their children for another gig,but probably assumed (and rightfully so) that the people who spending $1000 on tickets were people with a lot of money who happened to hear of the Stones and want to hear Satisfaction and Brown Sugar, not a bunch of obscurities. I have heard enough about the Joint myself that it just sounds like an all around lousy venue for concerts, and I think that hotel is obscene and an affront to the type of music we all know and love.

Actually, Macca's tickets went on sale this morning for $49.50 to $249.50. A little less than our boys got last time through. I read an article last week about the slump the concert business is in. It said lower ticket prices were coming. Also, lots of package shows such as Mellencamp/Fogerty this summer. Macca, U2, Bruce, and the Stones are all A1 and will continue to command and get whatever they want. These acts (along with a much younger Who) are/were the best live shows I've ever seen in over 30 years of concert going.

to be far to Springsteen, his ticket prices are MUCH less of a rip off than all of the above artists. Great though they all are.

Even for the theatre shows on the new tour, the prices are no more than about $85/é85/£50. Pretty similar to the last E-Street Band tour.

R, that is not the case in all of my experiences with buying Stone tickets! $90 for front row!??? IN your dreams! I am not a FANCLUB member so I have had to pay between $350-550 for great seats and I am sorry to say this but I do resent that price alot! I have paid $500 for 7th row Madison Square Garden, $500 for the HBO event at MSG in 2002 and $500 for Montreal's Molson Centre 6th row so I can't say I score any deals! I get angry but I want to go so bad I pay and it HURTS!
