Memory Motel

I just sent an e-mail wishing they play this song during the next tour. It's a personal fave of mine and the performance in 94 at the CNE in Toronto sticks out in my mind as a definite highlight. I'm not overly keen on the Dave Mathews guest version but to me it's just an excellant song that fills the void between the rockers. What does everyone else think?

It's such a beautiful song, I really like the live redemptions of it!

I just love it, and even if I have seen many shows, I do remember every single time I got top hear Memory Motel live. First time at veterans Stadium Philly 1997. A long wait, as I missed it during the 1994 tour, and they did not bring it to Europe. Then luckily many more times. And I hope they bring it back this year!

My personal favorite and I finally got to see it live in 1999 (after 18 years of shows) in Charlotte. Dave Matthews ruins the version on No Security.

I heard it in Hartford 1999. Lovely version!

I love it, too, but there are a lot more ballads to choose from: Out Of Tears, No Use In Crying, If You really Want To Be My Friend etc.

They should not always repeat what they have done successfully. Try out other songs!

Nice song, bit too long.

Their most melancholically and fragile sounding ballad. An excellent love song, not on a level of Wild Horses or whatever, more simple, but great.
I agree it's a bit long, that's why I actually very much like the No Security version, cause with a guest singer it doesn't sound so monotonously as the original. The very first tones really makes you want to be there so much as not many other intros do (to me).

What's not to like? And, how many songs do get to hear Mick and Keith share lead vocs? I wouldn't mind at all a return of this minor classic.
