Mick Jagger / David Bowie arena tour?
Posted by: Send It To me ()

I was thinking this might be a good way for him to work without the Stones, if he has indeed reached the point where he doesn't want to do it anymore, given Bowie's new record. Do you think this package would sell?
Any other ideas about how Mick might make money without Keith at age 70?

Somehow I can't see Mick leaving the Stones to become Bowie's opening act. Although I can see a big demand for a Bowie tour, I have a feeling that a solo Jagger tour would be met with rousing rounds of indifference.

Peace,
Mr DJA

Agreed, Bowie does not really need Jagger to sell tickets.
I think a Mick solo tour would only be intresting if he did covers mixed in with the few good solo songs he has done instead of a bunch of Stones songs

Sorry, but I think it's a terrible idea. Stones fans might wanna see a bit of Bowie, but not really at the same time as Mick Jagger. And vice versa.

True...there has been massive expectation surrounding any possible Bowie gigs since he went into retirement, having Jagger along would somewhat dilute the effect should it happen.

Bowie has never needed any other artist and he sure doesn't now. Whereas Jagger does and will not draw large audiences unless it's in Japan or somewhere equally as fanatical.

I think I would have enjoyed a MJ solo tour if he would have toured supporting his "Wandering Spirit" album back in the 90's. However, after ~25 years of watching Mick try to "be Mick Jagger" on stage with the Stones, I don't know if I'd want to see that from him on a solo tour. I am in agreement with you that, if he were to tour solo now, I'd much prefer a list of either covers or non-Stones "Warhorse" tunes than just a "Close-to-Stones" show. In fact, I'd prefer it if he were to come out and focus on the music rather than the "front-man showbiz" aspect. Heck, I wish he'd try that with the Stones one more time.

Peace,
Mr DJA

I would love to see a Mick Jagger solo tour. That could take him to cities that the Stones were to big to play. Like my area!

Jagger performed with Bowie in the past.
I think that was once, and one time was enough. and i dont mean the 1985 single.
I mean the sexual intercourse with eachother.

No, i wont spend any money on a Jagger tour. let alone a Jagger-Bowie Show

besides, this is all utter bullshite .

he hasn't said anything.

Bowie could fill stadiums worldwide on a comeback tour and name his price.

Why anyone thinks he'd need Jagger's help to drum up interest is beyond me.

The only good thing Jagger did, solo, was the WS album.
And the recordings with the red devils.

If he would do some blues shows, and SIT DOWN, i would go.

If he would act as a @#$%& peter pan with the stones, No..... thanks.

Given how good the new cd is I would love to see Bowie. That band he had last tour was incredible. Solo Mick, not so much.

I always been hoping for more between the 2 since live Aid song.
Too much business not enough spontaneity. Some shows here and there would have been great like clapton and friends thing

Yeah I am a huge Stones fan, and a huge Bowie fan, yet I have no desire to see Mick and Bowie tour together. And to be honest not much of a desire to see Mick solo doing his solo stuff. I doubt Bowie would tour anyhow. It is highly probable he might not ever play live again.
