Boy, have I been grooving to this tune lately.
For some strange reason, I just locked into this one. Any of you write this off
when you first heard GHS and then came back to it?

Right, tomb. Hadn't listened to GHS for 10-15 years but put it on some weeks ago. Winter och Can You Hear The Music are both beautiful.

I love the sound effect and slightly delayed playing of the main guitar chord.

I really like this song. The lyrics are pretty lame but musically it's great. For me it ties in stuff from Aftermath, Buttons,Satanic, and Exile. A lot of different instruments and some weird percussion. It's an experimental type of song.

don't kill me..but i never liked it.. doesn't go anyplace.. very boring..
not in the same class as t.s.m.r. or buttons..the song should have been replaced with travellin man... the only song weaker is, hide your love!
winter is a great song......if they redid silver train and mr. d and replaced the above 2 tracks, ghs could have been another sticky fingers or l.i.b. !

I think if they put Travellin Man on any disc , it would have improved the disc x5. I like Hide Your Love even though it is filler.GHS is a "could have been great if they only..." disc.

never a big fan of it - definitely filler material on a pretty fair album.

While you're here, Cafaro, I found a copy of Dirty Work Out-takes shortly after your kind offer. And I fell for the Artwork. So bought it. Am working up to a Back To Zero thread! Until then....the cut on Out-takes has guitars louder and they really make it groovy. I'm not at all sure that it's a Jagger track, in-fact. Simplistic lyrics make it sound Keithish. Bill's book doesn't list that one on his page which divides DW tracks into Keith and mick songs. (But he only deals with early '85 sessions).

Oh yes, Can You Here Mick Taylor's Music is great btw.

I think the song is ok at best. It has some cool sounds but doesn't really do too much for me. I do like Hide Your Love.
